Spring Break in New Orleans, LA

Spring Break 2010 was a much needed break for Charles and I. We were so incredibly blessed by Charles' parents (Gam-ee and Gramp-ee) that they kept Baylor and Cade while we enjoyed 4 nights away! Due to my fear of flying while still pumping (I believe in "no ounce left behind" theory at this point!), we decided to patron somewhere we could drive to. Thus, New Orleans arrived on our map! It was a short 6 hour drive into the city and a beautiful drive. However, on our way into town Charles became violently ill (I will spare everyone the details) and the first few days did not exactly pan out the way we intended. Had we been closer to home, we would have turned around, but there was no way Charles could make the trip back. So, he rested in the hotel room while I frequently shopped at Walgreens for him and walked around the French Quarter. A few days later, he was feeling a little better just in time for our friends Kelsey and Trevor who came in to join us for some excitement for a few days. We had a great time people watching, taking a walking ghost tour at night, eating, shopping, watching the St. Patrick's Day Parade, touring a plantation home, and did I mention people watching? If you ever want to just sit down and watch the differences that God created in us all...go to New Orleans! I saw many things that surprised me (some of which I could have done without seeing) and several times I laughed out loud. I love to see different personalities among people and I for one always welcome the diversities in our "melting pot" culture. Here are some highlights from our time in New Orleans.
The first of many great resturants...
Cafe Du Monde, delicious coffee and beignets...(not "Ben Yaayyy's" Trevor!)
Charles and I in Jackson Square
The Boardwalk
One of the oldest and haunted buildings in New Orleans...Jean Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop (now a bar). They have tried to restore this building several times, but never completed the process due to "hauntings" in the chimney!
A Leprecahn with his pot of gold (it is interesting to note that there was a hole in the top of his pot so that he had room to collect more gold...from people passing by).
Bourbon Street after the Parade
Kelsey and I on Bourbon Street after St. Patrick's Day Parade
The 4 of us at Pat O'Brien's on St. Paddy's Day!
Our informational visit to the Laura Plantation...
Main Plantation House, painted in various bright colors to show that the occupants were Creole's
"Code Noir" which was the written law for Slaves and how they must be treated. This is worth blowing up and reading. It really brings to life what our country has been through.

Official Registry of Slaves for the Plantation
Slave Quarters for 4 families
Thanks again to Charles' parents to whom this would not have been possible. We had a great time and are so blessed to have you in our lives!

St. Paddy's Day Parade!

Today we had a great afternoon at the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Cade has not been feeling up to par lately, but I think he enjoyed "people watching". About 15 minutes after the parade began he fell asleep (despite all the fire trucks and people screaming). But, we still had a blast with our friends Wayne and Seena. Here are some pics, and HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Ok, so I have been on Blog Vacation for almost 3 weeks now. So, let's play catch-up! Here are a few pictures of what the Hall household has been up to. It has been quite a busy little 3 weeks as you can see! My Lil Angel, getting his rest in! I love to watch him sleep.
Shopping with Daddy, is this foreshadowing?

Waking up at Gam-ee's

Almost enough to feed him till he's a year old!! Almost there...(that's what I tell myself everyday!)

Cade on his 6 month Birthday (Half-Birthday)!

Daddy, Cade and Papa with my Half-Birthday Cake, Mommy was nice and let Cade lick a taste, but that's all! ;)

Mean ol' Doctor gave me 5 shots on my 6 month visit! I cried for a few seconds, but Mommy and Daddy were prepared with a fresh bottle and I forgot all about those nasty shots!

The Most Beautiful Valentine Angel in the WORLD!

I loved my Valentine Bear that Nana and Papa gave me, he's furry!

SPCA Mutt Strut 2010: All four of us (Charles, Stacy, Cade and Baylor) got to participate in the Mutt Strut this past weekend. It was a 5 mile walk to raise money for the Houston SPCA. It was a huge success and both our boys had a great time. Baylor didn't know what to think, but fell right in line walking next to all the other 500 dogs. Cade sat up in his stroller and watched all the dogs the entire walk. He even screamed and grunted to get their attention, but they were a little busy!
