Happy Memorial Day 2011

As always, we celebrate Memorial Day with friends and Family. We are reminded of how much others have done for us, and we thank those service men/women who went above and beyond the call of duty while we enjoy the luxuries of life safely at home with our families. As a reminder, here is what Memorial Day actually represents.

"Memorial Day is a federally observed holiday on the last Monday of May every year in the US. Formally known as "Decoration Day", it honors US soldiers that have died while in the service. First enacted to honor Union Soldiers of the Civil War, it was extended after WW1 to honor Americans who have died in all wars." -http://memorialday2011.org

This Memorial weekend, we started off with a DATE NIGHT for Charles and I! Saturday night, Gamee and Grampee watched Cade while we went to the Movies and Pele Pele for dinner. It was such a relaxing and fun night! The best part was going to bed about 9:30pm! :)

On Sunday, we woke up and went and had coffee and crepes together before meeting up with Charles' family that evening for a BBQ. The food was amazing! They had bacon wrapped shrimp, pork chops, steaks, fruit kabobs, fresh corn and rolls. It was so good! We were also surprised when they gave us some gifts for Caelin! She is so spoiled. Charles's Brother Christopher and his wife Heather gave Caelin a hard back book with a sweet note written in it. It was Eric Carle's "The Hungry Caterpillar". Gamee and Grampee also got Caelin an outfit that says, "Apple of My Eye". This was so special to me cause that is what my Gangaw called me. So, Caelin will be perfect in that outfit!

On Monday, we woke up and made omelets together. Cade ate most of the bacon before we could actually get it in the omelets, but we still had fun. After a short nap around noon, we all went to Sally's house for swimming and snacks. Let's just say all the exercise we did in the pool may have been futile with the chicken salad, pasta salad, cookies, fruit, and bean dip! Cade had a blast jumping off the diving board and showing off for everyone. He loved getting spoiled by Sally, Echo and Lisa who were constantly handing him cookies! Needless to say, it was a great weekend with family and friends!

A shower of Blessings!

This past week I was reminded of how loved I truly am by my friends. The Lord has blessed me with a group of Friends that continues to bless me all the time. As weird as it sounds, anyone in our group of about 20 could call anyone else and have people running to their needs. My friends are generous, non judgemental, and the type of people you want to have for the rest of your life. I never worry about how I look, what I wear, or what I say when I am with them. Every second I am with any of them, I am laughing. I truly could not ask for more! I love you gals! So, in the true spirit of love, they all threw me a surprise shower for Caelin! I was SO SURPRISED (which is hard to surprise me). It was at my favorite restaurant (Gringo's) and they has the sweetest decor, RJ Goodies Cake, food and TONS of gifts! Sweet Caelin got the cutest outfits, diapers, wipes, giftcards for clothes, bibs, bows, and so much more! Even Mommy got some shopping cards and a giftcard to our favorite place for Pedicures! They even thought to invite Charles, Cade, Gamee, and Grampee! So, it was a true blast eating inner with everyone and spoiling Caelin. I must say, I will remember this shower forever. Thank you especially to Sally, Laura and Bela for setting it all up! I love you all more than you know.

32 weeks and counting

So, we officially made it to 32 weeks! Caelin seems to grow by the minute and people who see me in person think I might deliver any day. I look about the same as I was with Cade at 36 weeks. I am just saying it's all due to being the second baby...makes me feel better anyway. Below is a pic of me at 31 weeks, I know I look tired because I AM! Hahahaha. Here are some stats from the Doctor apt this week.

  • Blood Pressure: 104/68

  • Caelin's HR: 142

  • Weight: gained 1.5lbs these last 2 weeks, up about 24 pounds total for the pregnancy

  • All protein and other levels normal

Finally, here is what Babycenter.com says about Caelin this week. She will be here before we know it!

"By now your baby weighs about 3.75 pounds and is about 16.7 inches long. You will start gaining roughly about a pound a week and almost half of that goes to the baby. In fact she'll gain about 1/2 to 1/3 of her birth weight in the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside of the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails and real hair. Her skin is now soft and smooth."

Ooppps...

So, I did it again! I let 3 weeks pass in my postings. Where does the time go? Anyway, let me attempt to catch you up in a random post. Here are some highlights:

I had a surprise Baby shower luncheon by my coworkers! It was so much fun and I received a lot of pink things! My trunk was filled with pink items. When I got to the restaurant, there was a HUGE picnic basket filled with goodies as a gift. It contained many adorable sets of clothes, socks, blankets, baby's first dining set, toys, diapers, books, teddy bear with handmade clothes, Peter Rabbit tea set, bows, sunglasses, and SO MUCH more. This was such a huge blessing to us and greatly appreciated. THANK YOU FRIENDS!

My Mom had her 62nd Birthday! We love you Mom, you are so special to us.

Mother's Day was amazing. My boys spoiled me and I continue to be blessed by their love daily. My favorite gift was a necklace that says "Mama" in the middle, around the silver ring it says "Charles, Cade, Caelin, Baylor". I love it and wear it just about everyday. Those names mean everything to me.

Cade turned 21 MONTHS OLD! Time really flies and he has grown so fast. Sometimes I cry thinking how fast he grows up and how much I love him (I know...might be the prego hormones). He really is such a loving little man. He has a great spirit about him and continues to make us laugh. He will say "Caelin" when asked what his baby's name is and loves to kiss my belly. He has absolutely no fear and LOVES sports, motorcycles, and getting dirty...ALL BOY. He is also one smart lil boy! He can tell you about 5 colors now (black, blue, yellow, purple, and sometimes we get red/yellow) and can count 1:1 correspondence to 3. He can also count on his fingers to 5. He minds well when we say, "First X, then X"...and will help do simple chores most of the time. We are still attached to "Mr. Froggy" at bedtime and will do ANYTHING for someone to read him a book! We love you Cade, you are such a blessing to us!

Charles' Parents Celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary in HAWAII!! Congrats and thank you for everything you teach us about Marriage and loving each other.

While Gam-ee was in Hawaii, my parents came down to help watch Cade for the week so we could work. Cade had a blast with Nana and Papa. He is such a happy little boy and became very attached to them! Papa took him to the park almost every morning, and he loved shopping with Nana. When it came to getting spoiled, he sure got spoiled! But that is exactly the way it is supposed to be. Reminds me of my relationship with Gangaw when I was little. My poor Mom didn't stand a CHANCE if Gangaw was around! Hahaha! Warms my heart. Thanks Nana and Papa for helping out for the week!

Last Saturday, I was also blessed by our Sunday school class who took all the expecting 2nd time Mom's out to dinner. It was a fun time of fellowship and we ate some yummy Pizookie's at BJ's! I MAY have eaten at least half by myself...but who's really counting? Thank you to all who came and supported us 2nd time Mom's, I had a blast.

Last Sunday we started working on Caelin's room. Remember this is a work in progress, but here are a few starter pictures. We still have some decorating to do, but the furniture and main items are in there. Guess I should organize the drawers soon... :)

And lastly, Cade got his second haircut! He was so great as usual. Watched his Dad get it then said "My turn!"
