Happy Halloween!

The kids had a great Halloween today and were so funny to watch!  Gamee made their day with an early morning visit to the park.  Then, for lunch Gamee and the kids made "Mummy hotdogs .  I love the pic of them watching it cook in the oven.  After enjoying lunch, Cade played with some Spooky nails in the bathtub.  It was a Spooktacular afternoon.  When we got home, Stephanie/Michelle (our neighbors) brought over gift bags for the kids that were loaded with candy, toys, water bottles, bubbles and more.  We are so blessed by all our neighbors.  After dinner tonight we got our costumes (Transformer/Ladybug) on and enjoyed hanging with all the neighbors outside.  The kids love being with Ricky/Hana next door, so that was a big hit. We went to some houses to get the adventure of "trick or treating" and then were surprised by Gamee showing up in a clown costume!  Grampee came also bearing gifts for both kids and we had a blast walking the neighborhood.  Caelin got the hang of it toward the end when she figured out she would get lollipops by walking up to people.  Smart girl!  She then spent quite a lot of time in the wagon with her head in her bag of candy.  Cade also enjoyed handing out candy once we got home.  The weather was perfect for all and so enjoyable.  Happy Halloween!

Port O'Connor

What a weekend we had!  We had the opportunity to get away for the weekend with my Sis Mendy and Bro-in-law Chris in Port O'Connor, TX for some Bay fishing.  This was the first time in 4 years we had been able to all go together.  So, as much as I hated leaving my babies behind, we were blessed with time with Mendy/Chris, sleep, relaxation, watching sunrise/sunsets, and some good food.  THANK YOU to Gamee/Grampee again for loving on our babies so that we could get away!  It has been a long time since I have laughed this hard and had no worries.  No worries of what laundry needed to be done, getting kids in bed, planning meals, locating froggy, and keeping everyone happy.  Just the four of us.  It was so nice.  Since the weather decided to be cold and WINDY, it wasn't the best conditions (a cold front came through which meant it felt like we were on "the Deadliest Catch" with huge swells & 30 mph winds).  By the time we got to our fishing spot, we were pretty much drenched on the outside (thank goodness we bought rain suits!) and freezing cold.  But nonetheless, that didn't stop the good fishing from happening!  Here is a run down of everyone's loot that was worth mentioning.  The best part of the trip was taking in our fresh catches Saturday night and getting it cooked up for us!  We also had enough fish to bring home and share!  It was a great trip and we are so blessed for all the memories.

CFBC Trunk or Treat

Every year our church does a "Trunk or Treat" free to the public.  We love our community and this is one of the many ways we give back.  There are carnival rides, games, bounce houses, music, and of course trunk loads of candy!  Everyone weaves around the parking lot going to all the cars, and when you have had enough...you just go on some carnival rides!  It is always a blast and we enjoy the live music and family fun.  Caelin loved looking around and dancing to the music.  She was most entertained when her first "trunk or treat" was a lollipop, her favorite!  So, she got a little stick, but it was worth it!  Cade loved the bounce houses and the carnival ride.  This was also the first year I think he got excited about trick or treating.  He is growing up too fast!  Uhh....

Pre-Halloween Fun

After church/naps, we decided to have a little Pre-Halloween fun.  The kids got to wear their costumes around and carve the pumpkin with Daddy.  Cade loved using the "tools" to carve the pumpkin, and INSISTED on a pumpkin with triangles like "the others" (referring to all the decorative pumpkins around the house).  Charles was ALL on board with that as he knew that would be MUCH easier!  Caelin on the other hand was not phased by the pumpkin.  In fact she thought it was gross and grunted when we held the "guts" near her (pic below).
After our pumpkin carving, I thought we would try out the costumes and play a bit.  They both loved this and Cade continued to show us how he transforms as Megatron (the costume is actually Optimus Prime from the Transformers, but Cade insists it is Megatron).  He also continues to let us know Caelin wants to be a Dinosaur for Halloween.  I think this is his way of getting the best of both worlds.  Smart boy.
Caelin will be a little lady bug for Halloween and doesn't seem to mind the costume too much.  She refused to put her black tights on...so we have a few diaper shots for now.  Once she got her costume on, she was very proud and kept running up and down the sidewalk.  She is the cutest "bug" I have ever seen!
