Happy Easter, HE HAS RISEN!

Can't believe Easter is already here again!  I love this time of year as it is really a reminder of why we are Christians.  Sure, the eggs, bunnies and candy are great...but know Jesus suffered and died for us can bring tears to my eyes.  One thing that always speaks to me is how he was on the cross being tortured and the people were shouting, "Save yourself!"  Yet, in unspeakable pain, he chose to save us instead.  The world's best sacrifice took place that day.  This year, we had a challenge from our church to discover his journey day by day starting with Palm Sunday.  So, we followed his journey starting from his ride into Jerusalem on Sunday, through the miracles and betrayals, to the cross and then resurrection today.  I am blessed knowing our family knows of reason for Easter and can still take time out to pray and remember the Holy Week.  Thank you Jesus for saving us, when you could have ended the pain and saved yourself!

To celebrate the weekend we went to Round Rock to be with the Parks side.  It was perhaps the most cram packed weekend of fun one might ever decide to plan!  It started Friday night with dinner and playing football as a family.  The kids had a blast getting out the energy before we made white chocolate covered Easter pretzels.  On Saturday, Uncle Chris and Charles played on the Dripping Springs Alumni football team!  It was fun to see Charles back in football pads.  It has been 10 years since he last wore the green/gold uniform for Baylor, and 9 years since he wore the navy/white Houston Wolverines uniform.  His snaps were all still perfect and I was just happy no one from our family left via ambulance.  Maybe some bruising and blood...but not ambulance!  We finished the evening by eating with everyone and the Blevins side of the family at a Mexican Restaurant in Drippings.  By the time we got home and did baths, everyone was EGGhausted.  Resurrection Sunday began with Easter treats from the Easter bunny, breakfast, coloring of eggs, candy, Easter egg hunt, more baskets of treats from Nana/Papa, more candy, attempts at family pics, more candy again, mass chaos, silly string, and a little more candy.  The kids had a BLAST, but the adults were totally wiped out.  Well worth all the memories though.  I know this time goes fast, and we are just enjoying every moment (even the tantrums).

Easter with Gamee and Grampee

We enjoyed the afternoon and evening celebrating Easter time with Gamee and Grampee yesterday.  We dyed eggs, hunted eggs, ate hot dogs, and opened Easter baskets.  Can I just say AGAIN how spoiled with love our kids are?!  I personally am reminded of God's love by their love each day.  I could never write in words how much my Grandparents meant to me, and I love the fact that Cade/Caelin get to experience the same kind of love with all their Grandparents.  After the celebrations, we all went to church to watch Daddy play in his Softball game.  It was a great afternoon and evening together.  Here are some highlights of our favorites: Cade yelling when he used the confetti eggs "There's a party in your head!", Caelin trying to smash hard boiled eggs on her head thinking they were confetti eggs, Caelin using ALL her chapstick that she got (I think there was a blanket of stickiness on her face!), and watching Cade skillfully find eggs.  It has been fun to watch him become such a great egg hunter over the years.
