Caelin's first "self cut"

Daddy and I noticed strands of hair in the skirt of Caelin's clothes today.  Upon probing, we figured out she had decided to cut her own hair.  We are assuming she tried to hide the evidence, although unsuccessful.  When we asked her if she cut her hair, this is the look we got.  Sigh.

Baylor beenie weenie

Baylor...affectionally referred to as "Baylor beenie weenie" just got his first haircut after surgery and all wounds are healed up!  Praise God for healing and love for our first born furry baby.  Can you tell he is a bit spoiled?  We love our Baylor!

Charles' back surgery

Well, you should know by now that life never slows down in our house.  Ha!  We got home late last night, quickly unpacked and did laundry only to be up by 4:45am to prepare for Charles to have back surgery.  We checked in at the hospital at 5:30am and surgery started at 7am.  By 8am the Doctor came out and let me know everything went just as planned.  He removed part of the disk that was herniated at L5/S1, shaved a small portion of the bone, and removed some calcification.  Doc reported that although the nerves were very agitated, they appeared to be in good shape and he would expect a full recovery with the nerves and pain.  Charles stayed in recovery until around noon and then we headed home.  I am so blessed that his healing has been somewhat easy and he hasn't been in pain much.  He says it is more soreness than pain, which is already quite a change.  Praying the healing continues!

Sea World

After the McCharen reunion we made the short drive to San Antonio to enjoy 2 days at Sea World with the Blevins family.  It was so relaxing to just have no plans but Sea World and hanging out in the pool at night.  The 4 cousins LOVE being together and I know they miss each other terribly when they go without seeing each other for long periods of time.  The kids enjoyed all the shows, but man the rides were a big hit!  If they were tall enough, they rode it!  I guess our next trip may need to be to Six Flags or a theme park with rides, Ha.  After some fun days at Sea World, we enjoyed the hotel with pool and outdoor movies at night.  Of course Caelin cried when she had to leave Mackenzie, but we reminded her that we will see each other soon.  LOVE LOVE LOVE spending time with family.
