I love our smart boy

Kids are supposed to be in bed. Charles is in office and could hear Cade talking NONSTOP in his room. He goes in the room and figures out Cade was under bed. When he calls his name, Cade pokes his head out from under the bed and declares, "What? I can't read and get smarter? If I get smarter the whole town will be proud of me." Where do they get this stuff?!  I guess his Kinder teacher was right when she said he was a level J (2nd grade) in reading.  He loves to READ!

Father's

We had a great lesson in Sunday school on Fatherhood. I am blessed to have such a great Father to my children, love you Charles! To all the amazing Father's out there, continue to love your children as a leader of your house. Be there for them, guide them with a firm and grace filled heart, and train them up!
One thing I remember most about my Dad was his loving guidance. Of course I tested him, but his grace in those moments taught me more than he knew about love! One of the funniest times (yes, it is hard to pick) was when he flooded our new house 3 days after we moved in. I remember him coming to me at 7am and saying he needed to talk. He apologized and was about to cry because he had fell asleep in the bathtub. I listened and then started laughing. I just couldn't help it. He was such a spirit filled man. Have a great day all you Father's!

Date Day!

Caelin was still recovering from being sick, so we had a girls day while Cade and Charles went to the Baylor game.  The boys had a great time since it was an afternoon game.  Caelin and I went shopping and then to lunch at TGIFridays for lunch.  It was a great day for us all!

Happy BD Charles!!

Happy Birthday to my best friend, husband, and Father of our sweet babies!  I hope this year is the best yet as you turn 36 years.  Thanks for being my world and always being there to support our family.  I have been more blessed than I could have ever imagined from our first date.  SHMILY and happy birthday!

14th Annual Bearkat Bash

14th Annual Klein High School Bearkat Bash is complete and both kids ran the 1K this year.  I am so proud they both ran the whole way. Anytime we can exercise and be together is a good time.  The weather was perfect for the event!  Go Cade and Caelin!

Caelin officially has a loose screw

Never a dull moment. We have struggled with "ear infections" for over 2 years with Caelin. Of course this includes visits to Pediatrician, meds, antibiotics, drops, debrox, multiple ear flushes to clean out what they thought was stubborn wax, etc. Today we take her to ENT to get it flushed and hopefully cleaned before we have to go the surgical route. Well, after 4 people restraining her and 2 flushes at the ENT, a lot of junk started coming out of her ear. Including this large hard piece. Gamee and I decided to take it to Ehrhardt and look at it under a microscope.  I have no idea if we would even be able to know what we were looking at...but we had to know.  Once we unwrapped it in Charles' office, we noticed it had ridges and was rusty.  Upon complete examination, it turned out to be a SCREW!  2 years she has had problems. TWO YEARS!  The screw was rusty and praise the Lord it must have been laying flat against the ear drum. I was floored.  Not sure if I am mad at the doctors or happy for it to be over.  I did ask Caelin if she could hear better, and she frankly replied, "Well, duh Mom."  Ok then...problem solved and my child officially has a screw loose. It is the most expensive screw on Earth and I will be keeping it forever.

Weekend fun

Caelin was able to have a sleep over at Gamee and Grampee's while Daddy took Cade to the 1st Baylor game of the season.  This left me to spend the night in Dallas with my Best Friend of 28 years.  Aunt Lizzy and I had a blast spoiling her first born, Thomas McClelland Aughinbaugh.  He was born just days before Cade's BD.  Funny how we both had our first babies within calendar days of each other...only 6 years apart in time.  Thomas is such a true joy and my heart was so happy to hold him nonstop while there.  Lizzy and I were able to go for a walk both days and enjoy the start of some cooler weather.  Caelin said her weekend was "amazing and bright" with shopping and time with Andrew as well.  Cade enjoyed his first Baylor game of the season, and I couldn't believe he stayed awake and walked all the way to/from the stadium from the campus where we always park.  I know he loved the Daddy time and was excited to show off his new Baylor hat as well!  Thank you Lord for a great weekend of smiles and family time.

Caelin's 1st day of Preschool

We are so excited that Caelin is starting Preschool this year at John Wesley Methodist.  We know this is where she is meant to be already because her teacher's name is Mrs. Watts.  Watts was my Grandma's last name who Caelin Roe is named after.  So, God has guided us to this place.  The other classroom teacher is Mrs. Milam and they have been working together for over 10 years!  We came to the school a few days ago to meet the teachers and see the room.  Caelin was so excited to meet new friends and see her classroom.  The teachers had everything neatly organized with centers, individual activities and group time adventures.  I know this year will be a strong academic growing year for her!  I was also so excited to hear about all their projects, thematic units, and hands on experiences.  At meet the teacher and also the first day of school today, Caelin walked right in.  No reservations from this kiddo!  We practically had to slow her down and make her take pictures with us.  I watched as she walked in the door this morning with her confidence and waving to a friend she met just the other day.  I realized how much this world needs this confident being.  I know this world is already forever changed by her and I cannot wait to see what God does with her life.  Continue to be the strong willed, brave hearted, and friendly little girl, Caelin.  We will always be just a step behind watching you grow more beautiful each day!
