Halloween is here!

Last night we had our annual pumpkin carving adventure.  We went shopping for pumpkins after work and found out that may not be the best idea the day before Halloween as 2 stores were out of pumpkins!  We were able to snag a small pumpkin for Caelin (she said she wanted "the cute baby pumpkin") which was a win because she wanted to paint it.  Cade was looking for "the biggest pumpkin EVER", but due to limited options settled for a pie pumpkin.  When we made it home, Caelin painted hers and Cade drew the face he wanted on his pumpkin and watched Daddy cut it.  After the pumpkins, we had family movie night with Charlie Brown's classic and a Toy Story Halloween show.  Saturday was a relaxing Halloween with "Goosebumps" at the movie theatre, early dinner and trick or treating in the neighborhood with the Natalie and Carmen Knight.  Gamee and Grampee came over to bring goodies to the kids and Cade even went in a spooky haunted house in the neighborhood.  We had a great time and laughed when Cade came running out of the haunted house.  Cade was a Skylander again named Stink Bomb (same as last year) and Caelin chose Supergirl this year.  It was a happy Halloween for all!

Pumpkin Patch

Every year, the High School Developmental programs all get together for an annual Hayride.  This usually includes about 50+ students (past and present) and families.  We play in the pumpkin patch, take pictures on the grounds, and ride a hayride to the back of the property where we enjoy cooking campfire hotdogs and s'mores.  Of course the DJ is always a hit with plenty of dancing and the kids can enjoy the playgrounds.  It blesses me so much to see so many students laughing and engaging with each other.  I love the fact that Cade and Caelin get to see my friends each year and know that God made us all different.  EVERY person has strengths and something to offer in our lives.  The entire family had a blast and we already are looking forward to next year!

CFBC Trunk or Treat

We always enjoy the Trunk or Treat at Church.  This year the rains didn't stop us as we took over the entire inside of the church.  The kids enjoyed all the bounce houses, treasure hunt, and of course all the trick or treating.  We were able to hang out with the Bomer family which was such a blessing!

Baylor Homecoming

As a birthday gift to Charles and I, Gamee/Grampee got us a hotel for one night in Temple so that we could enjoy Baylor Homecoming this year.  Well, as luck would have it, it rained...and by rain we mean monsoon weather and tornados.  Due to the rain, most homecoming events such as bonfire, parade, etc were cancelled.  We were a little sad, but we still able to enjoy ourselves for a weekend away.  We enjoyed great restaurants, sleeping in, AXO reunion, and a really wet Baylor game in the rain.  Just being alone and having a "dating weekend" helps to rejuvenate any marriage and this was much needed.  Sometimes life has a way of being little too busy and we miss some really great moments in the fast paced life.  Thank you Gamee/Grampee, it was such an amazing time!

A short visit to Round Rock

It had been about 5 weeks since we have seen Nana and we knew it was going to be until Thanksgiving when we would see her again, so we decided we all needed a quick trip to Round Rock.  It was jam packed with fun and too short.  It always warms my heart to be close to my Mom.  Sure wish she lived closer.
