Date Days!

Part of Cade's Christmas present from Gamee and Grampee was a night away with just them and the Lego Convention at the George R Brown Center.  Needless to say, Cade LOVED every minute of it.  He told me it was "pretty much just all for me".  Ha!  Cade had a sleepover, went to the Movies to see "Norm of the North", enjoyed an entire day at the Lego Convention, and even got a large Lego set!  Daddy and I thought that this would be a perfect time to spoil Caelin with some date days as well.  So... for Caelin, I straightened her hair, Daddy painted her toenails, and we watched Barbie Pegasus on Friday night.  Saturday we took her to see "Norm of the North" also, lunch at Fudruckers and then Build a Bear.  Everyone had such a great time and we are blessed to be able to have date days with the kids to make sure they know how special they each are.  Thank you Gamee and Grampee for loving on our babies also!

Cade's top tooth

Someone lost a tooth today and got a visit from the tooth fairy!  Cade is apparently a light sleeper tonight as he woke up right after the tooth fairy came and Charles and I just happened to be in the room. You see, we heard a noise and simply were checking on Cade.  She left a trail of dust behind and $1.00.  He was excited, but said he didn't "see" her.

Cade and those darn allergies

Poor Cade has suffered for quite some time with these allergies.  We have tried just about everything out there.  So, we decided it was time to have him officially tested for allergies.  As it turns out, he has quite a few allergies and needs allergy drops specifically to assist with his allergies.  So, looks like we will be doing drops under the tongue a few times daily for at least the next 9 months.  Sounds like fun, right?  NOT!  Cade was a trooper throughout the entire 2 hour test and was just glad he got "computer time".  Allergies include: bermuda grass, bahia, mesquite tree, mold, and a few animals. Praying we will get better ASAP as we all feel this is likely the cause of his speech problems with his "nasal" sounds as well.  Although he is clearly the cutest and bravest little boy out there.

Grampee finishes #21

I am amazed each year with Grampee and his dedication! Today was his 21st consecutive Houston Marathon. To put that in perspective, that is 550.2 miles (NOT counting the endless miles of training and hundreds of other races)! We are blessed by his health and hard work. To celebrate we helped him load up on pasta yesterday afternoon and enjoyed another amazing cake by Gamee. The cake was in the shape of a shoe and was delicious.  Today we all cheered for him as he crossed the finished line and then enjoyed a lunch in the hotel room (yes, we made him take a shower!). GO GRAMPEE GO!
