Baylor and Soccer

One year ago today we said goodbye to our dear Baylor.  I remember the day like yesterday and it still takes my breath away.  He was such a loyal and comforting friend.  No matter what life threw at me, I was never alone with Baylor.  He was the first one to greet me at the door and always brightened my day.  We were so blessed to have had the 12.5 years with him that we did.  He will live forever in our hearts as our first baby and blessing in our early years of marriage.  See you soon Baylor, and until then…take care of Papa and eat lots of popcorn.  We love you.

Although the day was filled with tears and memories, we also celebrated Caelin’s first soccer game.  Her team is working on which goals to run towards at times...but we did score and kids did great. Shout out to Daddy who coached on the fly.  Way to go fierce Caelin!

See You at the Pole!

What a GLORIOUS morning to PRAY with the children at Ehrhardt Elementary as we gathered for SEE YOU AT THE POLE! We pray for blessings, love, and happy children as they enter the doors each day! Thank you for the men who prayed over us and for the children who joined hands in unity! - Gamee

Baylor Football Trips

Needless to say this football season has not gone according to plan so far.  Even with a change in coaching and light recruiting we never expected to be winless at this point in the season. However, the team continues to fight and compete regardless of the opponent or the score.  It is nice to see them competing, not giving up, and improving each week.

The trips to the games have been a blast. There have been games with Cade, Stacy, and a special game where the whole family got to attend. Each trip has been special as we meet old friends, eat good food (yes..that means Viteks), and most importantly spend time with the family.

So far the best trip has been to the OU game.  We received  two extra tickets from one of the people we sit by at the games. With the extra tickets Cade and Caelin were able to come along making the game a family affair.  We left home early enough to make it to CafĂ© Homestead where we were able to enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery at one of our favorite places to visit in Waco.  We saw blacksmithing, woodworking, crafts and more.  Of course the visit would not be complete without a visit to the restaurant. Despite a long wait the food was worth it in the end.  After enjoying our time at the Homestead we made our way to the game.  The team was expected to get blown away and we were prepared for a long game. The team however had different plans.  So as the team fought hard and played great we and the kids also played hard.  We even made it onto the scoreboard a couple of times as we danced, sang, played, and cheered until we had no voices left.  We can't wait to see what the rest of the season has to bring and what memories will be made.

Foam Roller Drama

Reflections on my encounter with these contraptions people call sponge rollers. My friend gave me some to try (as she giggled) and I was so excited and committed to the process. It will be an "adventure" they say.

Reflections:
- I am gonna do this right! Look how fun this is (as I roll my damp hair) at bedtime.
- Why is my forehead so big?
- Man, these are not so easy to sleep in. But my hair is gonna be amazing! Trust the Process Stacy.
- Cade wakes up in the morning and asked me if it is "old lady dress up day" at the office. Start taking out rollers and realize half my hair is still attached to the deadly foam. My receding hairline is not happy. Patience wears thin as my kids start laughing and I realize I am gonna be late for work.
- Rollers are now out, tight ringlets hanging and I ponder how to fluff it out. I do what my impulsivity tells me...bend over and shake it out while attempting to run fingers through it.
- I now look like my Poodle with permed hair the size of Texas. I decide to try and pin it back and run out of house.
- I drive the rest of the way to work with my head halfway out window trying to tame my mane. It helps only slightly. I decide to just own my new found perm...however, my foam roller days are officially over.

Happy BD to my love!!

Today we celebrate this man! He is the rock of our family and my best friend. I am living proof that he changes the lives of those he meets and I could not be prouder to call him MINE! He is a man of faith, stands up for what is right, and serves those around him every second of every day. We love you Charles…our “Daddy”! Happy 38th Birthday!

A hug heals the heart

This weekend we were finally able to spend some time in Round Rock.  There is just something to be said about getting a hug from family after witnessing tragedy.  This was just what we needed. Between family dinners, flag football and soccer, we got to spend some extra special cousin time geocaching and we got to celebrate Charles’ BD a few days early! Throw in a little swimming and I'm not sure we could have got much more in. I know the Nana loved having everyone and I am sure Papa smiled the entire weekend watching the craziness.
