This morning we woke up bright and early to head out for a family fishing tournament. We may not have won, but at least we caught a few perch. It was a great morning to be outside and enjoying time with friends and family. After fishing, we ran a few errands and then took showers to get ready for the night. Caelin had a sleepover for her best friend, Adalia's BD at a nearby hotel. This meant Cade got a night of spoiling all to himself. We started off with shopping at the comic book store and then went to dinner at a sushi restaurant called Sushi Choo Choo. It was so funny to watch all the little plates of sushi go buy and select all the different kinds you wanted to try. We laughed pretty hard as Cade was a tad too adventurous at times and wanted to try it all. On our way home, we stopped by Marble Slab for some ice cream and then went home to snuggle up and watch the movie "Thor". It was such a blessed day with the family!

Developmental Prom
One of my favorite KISD events all
year...DEVELOPMENTAL PROM for all 5 High Schools! Our students looked so sharp
and danced the night away with old/new friends. Thanks to all the teachers and
Best Buddies that helped make the night a true success. My heart is full of joy
and I have memories that will last a lifetime.

Go 'Stros!
Today was a great afternoon for a Father/Son game. This was Cade's first Astros game and he had a blast. Thankfully the game was a good one and the Astro's won against the San Diego Padres! Other than the game itself he loved the hotdog and peanuts but was amazed by the replica World Series rings that were on display. After the game, all the kids in attendance had the opportunity to get on the field and run the bases. He even got an Astro's hat and poster as souvenirs. It is sure to be a day he won't soon forget.

Happy Easter: Matthew 28:6
Easter this year was one of the most relaxed days we have had in a while. We woke up to enjoy a visit from the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt in our front yard. Even Bear had goodies left by the Easter Bunny. Charles and I were able to sip coffee while watching the faces of joy and smiles. After that, we headed out to church to celebrate Jesus and his resurrection. Easter has always been one of Charles and I's favorite holidays. It is a great reminder of new beginnings and promises from God. After church, we headed to Gamee and Grampee's house for Easter lunch, an egg hunt, more Easter baskets and of course the annual confetti egg showdown. We laughed pretty hard as the adults jumped in on the confetti eggs just as much as the 4 cousins. I was also super impressed that we were able to get a picture of all 4 cousins on the swing! Finally, we headed home for the evening to enjoy some family time with our new "Wubble" water balloons. Now THAT was some interesting fun. Hahaha! The entire day was just perfect and filled with some much-needed family time. Thank you Jesus for rising from the grave and showing us what love is all about.
