A few first time adventures...
Today Cade got a
quarantine haircut. I have to say it looks good and I did not have to pay for
it. I also learned a new technique with a
yard blower for easy clean off. Who knew? Caelin and I on the other hand...we are not feeling so accomplished with the bath bombs we tried to create. They look more like unicorn poop than donut shaped bath bombs.

Do what makes you giggle!
Once again my sis, sent me a funny pic of
someone in a costume walking the lake by her house. Kids saw the pic, died
laughing and then began digging through costume closet. I wanted everyone to
exercise, kids wanted to dress up...so Ron Weasley, Ferocious Bunny and Wonder
Woman walked the lake today. Caelin was sad that her blow up unicorn costume
had motor failures. Next, we cooked
homemade chicken noodle soup and rosemary bread. The kids chopped all the veggies and helped us
make it. We also threw in some of the rosemary we have been growing. Although
we only have angel hair pasta in the pantry...soooooooo...it is
"creative" chicken noodle soup.

Braces
We had a very productive day with online
work/school for everyone, exercise, cleaning of kids rooms, cleaning house, and laundry. The big news of the day is that I got my braces on! Yes, I feel like a teenager, but this will help the overcrowding in my lower jaw and hopefully will only take 9 months. EEEK! To celebrate Caelin made us an
appetizer! Complete with queso, salsa, ranch/carrots, and fruit. The oranges
and carrots make happy faces. So proud of our kiddos and their resiliency during this time.

Hmmmm...
Cade finished online assignments (including
optional ones) in all areas yesterday. He has read 12 chapter books in the last
10 days, we have taught him laundry skills, he has cooked many things, and we
have had physical activity daily. Today we needed to get our own work done, so
we told him to do something with art. He decided to use a dead Mayfly as an art
subject and have him reading on a chair. I feel we are doing well. Despite the
fact that I guess I need to clean house and he needs to wash his hands.

Decker Prairie Teacher Parade
Highlight of our
week...teacher drive by parade! We adore our school and staff. We may not have been able to get near them or give hugs, but just seeing them made everything feel better for a bit. Thank you teachers for
driving over 4 hours through neighborhoods to see all the families of the school. We decided to make them smile with our signs,
here is what all our signs said…
Stacy- "Take them back, it is harder with your own kids"
Cade- "I got dressed for this"
Caelin- "Hi Decker Prairie Staff, I love you"
