Just a fun Family day at Main Event...

English Riding and IEA

Caelin has played soccer for many years, but in the end did not feel it was the sport for her. However, she now feels she may have found her sport.  It is one that honestly none of us would have guessed. She been taking lessons for Western riding for years with her friend Hayden, but wanted to start taking English lessons in hopes of competing and jumping.  She began taking lessons at Cedar Lane Stables for English riding and recently found out she had been selected to be on the Cedar Lane IEA competition team. She will begin practicing two days a week (1 hour on Thursday evenings and 2 hours on Saturdays). This season she will compete in the Walk/Trot at multiple shows, but eventually she wants to be able to compete in the jump competitions as well. We are all excited to see her succeed, but most of all we are excited to see her having fun learning and competing.

Saying Goodbye to Bella Roe

Caelin's sweet Bella Roe went to be with Jesus and we were all sad to say goodbye.  She had not been feeling well for about a week and we loved on her as much as possible.  Caelin gave her the best send off as we all held hands, Cade said prayer and Caelin selected a passage from Revelation 21 to read aloud.  Rest in peace sweet Bella, we love you!

First day of 6th/8th grades

Today, we entered a new phase with a 6th grader and 8th grader.  Caelin will be in her final year at Tomball Intermediate and Cade in his final year at Tomball Junior High.  Caelin is most excited to have her Daddy at her school as an Assistant Principal, and Cade is looking forward to being the top grade on campus and starting football soon.  The day started with a 6:05am pick up for Cade and a 7:00am pick up for Caelin (we did our best with the pictures).  Both were talking nonstop when they got home about their day and seemed to both make a few new friends.  We pray over this school year, not only for academic growth...but growth spiritually and emotionally.  

Promotion Sunday

Today was a big day.  Caelin graduated from the children's ministry and will now be in the youth ministry with Cade.  We could not be more excited for her to meet new friends, enjoy mission trips and sit with us in "big church" after Sunday School.  It warms my heart to know that Cade will be there with her. It will feel weird to never wear a tag with her name each Sunday morning for children's ministry.  These are the little things that remind me to stop and never take advantage of how precious time is.    

Cade turns 14

My mind cannot comprehend that 14 years ago, our baby boy entered this world.  August 10, 2009 was a day that literally changed our lives.  It was the first day where I no longer cared about myself, but vowed I would do anything in my power to allow this baby to live a full and blessed life.  Cade brings joy to others by serving, is a friend to all, is always dancing, makes straight A's in all advanced classes, and enjoys mission trips. He is growing into an independent (annoyingly independent at times) and self-confident young man that we are all proud of. For his big day Cade chose to eat at Bluewater Seafood and spend time with family. Of course no birthday meal would be complete without one of Gamee's birthday cakes. This year's masterpiece was a "Livin in a Van, Down by the River" cake complete with an RV and jello river! Here's to many more birthdays, memories to be shared, and continued blessings. We love you Cade.
