Mac's Graduation Weekend

What a special weekend it was to celebrate Mac and her graduation from High School.  We enjoyed the pool, grilling out, shopping, many chicken salad sandwiches from Mac’s graduation party.  Mom and I helped Mendy with all the décor, food, and details of Mac’s party.  Mac selected photos for each table and set up a memory table with photos, cap/gown, letter jackets, UIL medals and more.  Gamee/Grampee were the true stars of the day as they made Hendrickson High School and Mary Hardin Baylor signs as décor and Gamee made a beautiful cupcake flower bouquet in the colors selected by Mac.  It was a great afternoon celebrating Mac with her friends and family.  Of course, the highlight of weekend was hearing her name and watching her cross the stage into a new chapter of life.  Mac has been diligent her entire high school career and excelled in the classroom and on the soccer field with Varsity Soccer.  She is a leader at school and at church with her volunteer hours and serving on a team that is working to open a new church in Austin.  While my tears fell many times this past weekend, I cannot explain the peace I feel that everything is going to be just fine when she leaves for Mary Hardin Baylor in August.  This is what we always prayed for…our kids to all be ready when it was their time to fly the coop.  While it is hard on us, watching her excitement brings a peace and joy in my heart.  I am so proud of my sister for staying true to who she is and growing Mac into a Christian woman.  We love you Mac and can’t wait to see all the ways that God is going to use you!
