Today we decorated for Christmas. The kids loved putting up decorations around
the house and I tried to make “recommendations” for where they would look best,
ha. I always get teary eyed when I come
to the ornaments as they truly are a collection from our childhood. We have ones that were made in elementary
school, baby’s 1st Christmas’, ones from my Grandparents, old car
keys to remind us of cars we had, and my favorite that have smiling pictures of
happy family moments. Through tears, it
is always a reminder that God is good.
Life may not always be what we expect and can sometimes just be
painful. However, those moments make us
stronger and we are forever grateful that we had those joyful memories
nonetheless. The kids had a special time putting up their very own trees in their rooms this year. They LOVED cleaning off the night stands and decorating their own tree. It is fun to see the tradition continue and hear them say, "Hey look at this one I made when I was 3!" We had a great laugh when Caelin picked out a furry cat as her 2017 ornament. She does love cats. However...on the tree it resembles the cat coming out of the tree on National Lampoon's Christmas vacation. Cade went with a wooden nativity ornament that lights up. Both represent their personalities and are worth every penny spent for years to come.

Homestead Fair
We had a fun few days in Waco at the Homestead
Fair. Lots of fun things to learn. The kids did various crafts like making
spoons, sailboats, loom items, leather key fobs, etc. Charles and Grampee
helped raise a barn. We ate a ton of good food and enjoyed amazing music like
gospel bluegrass. Thank you Lord for family time and good memories!

Happy THANKSgiving!
Thanksgiving this year was at Gamee and Grampee’s. We enjoyed relaxing, watching football, Caelin
and I went for a walk (a really long one cause I got lost ha!), and playing
cards. Gamee and Grampee did a great job
with the meal and had my personal favorite…cheese grits. Bear even got a turkey bone, so it was a
great day for everyone. We are thankful
and blessed indeed!

We love Grapeland, TX
5 days at the lake with no cell service and just
family time. This trip included GAMEE time, family pictures, marbles, jacks, BB
gun wars, lots of fishing, nature walks, movie nights, fish fry, & more! We
were in Heaven and sad to leave as always. I guess we have to come to reality.
Till next time Grapeland, TX!
