Hello Kelsey!

It is always a joy to be with friends, especially when they visit from Wisconsin and you haven't seen them in years.  So, of course, we have to go out for TexMex.  Welcome back to Texas Kelsey!

Some time with Mom

On Saturday morning, I left to head to Round Rock to spend 4 days with Mom.  I am so thankful to have the BEST hubby in the world who is the perfect Dad and took care of Cade/Caelin while I was gone including all sport events, church, school, etc.  I know it can feel like a taxi driver and he did such a great job and even cleaned house while I was gone!  This helped me be able to just relax and take care of Mom.  We enjoyed the simple things like chinese take out, movies at night, shopping at Tuesday Morning, and coffee each morning.  While getting her up and healthy again we also completed several tasks around the house so that she could feel confident in not having to rush to get things done and could focus on her recovery.  Nana is brave, relentlessly cares for others, and strong.  I have no doubt that she will make a FULL recovery and come out stronger than before.  It was so hard to leave her tonight.  I have loved every minute of being with her and it is an honor to take care of her.  It makes my heart happy to see her healing and thriving!

Spring Break 2019

So happy we were able to spend the first half of Spring Break in RR with the family last week.  We were able to get in soccer games, family dinner, cousin sleepover, and countless stories/laughter.  We were sad to head home mid week, but always look forward to the next time together!  Once home, we had to stay in town rather than heading to Grapeland due to the cold and rainy weather.  So, we made the best of the rest of our time with seeing friends, playing family game days, movie nights, cooking and geocaching.  I wish we had more days where we could wake up and decide what we want to do for the day while cooking breakfast together, ha!  Then, unexpectedly, we got a call Friday afternoon that Nana was on her way to the hospital.  We quickly packed and rushed to Round Rock.  It is never a good feeling knowing you are hours away when a parent is in need.  I know from past experiences that sometimes you just can't make it in time.  Knowing this, I tried to stay calm and get whatever info I could before we got there.  When we arrived, Nana was in extreme pain and vomiting.  It was a long waiting game until answers came that she had 2 partial bowel obstructions and would be admitted.  Several methods to clear the obstructions were tried over the next 4 days and we were blessed they worked and she would not have to undergo surgery.  The next 3 days were a waiting game as we had to head home for school/work while Mendy helped at hospital during her Spring Break.  Once Nana's INR and blood pressure was under control, she was able to come home yesterday.  I know just being home will help her sleep and heal fast!  I am looking forward to going to RR tomorrow to spend the weekend and early next week with her.

Cade's 3rd grade BLACK OUT performance

Cade's grade had a blackout performance called "Mission Possible".  They had been practicing for a month during PE and it was fun to watch all the dances come together.  Cade was in the step box routine with glowing socks.  We watched intently as he was able to do every step flawlessly.  At the end, the entire grade level performed the last song with various glowing objects in the black lights.  We were so proud of him for his hard work and most importantly having FUN!
