4th of July Celebrations

I have to start off by saying Happy Independence Day everyone! What a great day for all Americans to celebrate together!

We started our 4th of July by going to church and MAN was it a GREAT sermon! I just LOVE Pastor Fleming at CFBC!! Anywho, after church we went to eat some BBQ (I know, how can you NOT eat BBQ or hamburgers/hotdogs on the 4th?), and then it was off to the Freedom Festival downtown in Tinsley Park. Of course the main reason was to see PAT GREEN (My FAVORITE Artist), but we were also excited for Cade to see the Fireworks for the first time. Did I mention that Pat Green is now the "Most Played Texas Country Artist of the DECADE"?? Wrap that around your brain everyone! I love ya Pat! So, here are some pics of our eventful day!

Cade's first trip to the ZOO!!

This past week we also ventured to the Zoo for our first time! It was a blast. Since it was overcast and drizzling all day, there was hardly anyone there! It actually was the PERFECT day to go! No lines, and we were able to take our time and really hang out with some of Cade's favorites. Cade has always been intrigued by birds. I think in a way, part of "Mumps" (Charles' Grandma) and "Gangaw" (My Grandma) come out in him when birds come around. He can watch them for hours and even while at the zoo, would watch the pigeon's on the ground rather than the big Lion behind the glass! It was so much fun to see him smile and point every time a bird was around. Needless to say, we spent a lot of time in the bird area of the Zoo!

Carolyn gets Married!

I was honored to be able to attend one of my Best Friend's wedding in St. Louis on June 26th. Carolyn and I have been friends since 1999 when we met at Baylor University. We were next door roomates in the dorm our Freshman year, and from there developed a friendship that I will treasure for life. Carolyn is one of those people with the unique ability to make you laugh in any situation, very intelligent, and loyal to those around her. Our other roomie Britni and I flew up together and watched her on her big day. She was a beautiful bride and we wish her and Will all the happiness in the world! We love you Caro!
Ps- Glad you ditched the ice packs in the spanks before walking down the aisle!

Happy Father's Day!!

Of course this day would not be complete without mentioning how blessed we are to have so many special Father's in our lives!
First, thank you to the best Father of all, our heavenly Father. Without him, we would be nothing and we know "every good and perfect gift comes from you!"

Second, thanks to our Dad's (Rex and Fred)! They continue to show us both daily the love of a earthly Father and unconditional love. When we need you, yall are always there to pick us up and dust us off. Without the legacy yall give, we would not be able to pass along this love to Cade.
Finally, a very special thank you to the BEST FATHER on Earth! Charles, you have shown more love and compassion than I could have ever guessed! I truly believed that there was no way I could love you more than I did a year ago, but I do. I love the way you give yourself fully to our lives and raising Cade. Seeing you be a Father has been one of my biggest blessings in life. You were made to be a Father and what a joy God has given me in you. Happy first Father's Day, WE LOVE YOU!! --Mommy and Cade
