Father's Day!

Today is such a special day for our family.  Not only do we have an amazing Heavenly Father that guides us daily, but we are blessed with some amazing Godly men in our lives that lead by example.  So, HAPPY Father's Day to all the Daddy's out there!

I was first blessed as a little girl by my own Dad.  Growing up, I was so blessed to have a Dad that did everything he could for our family.  My Dad would grill hot dog weenies on my Barbie pit to cheer me up when I was sick, sat with his knees next to his ears many times having tea parties, always came through with pizza or McDonald's on Friday Movie Nights, cleaned our Hamster cages cause we were scared of the poop, never missed any school event, and yet still managed to tell us everyday that he loved us at some point.  Of course we have the discipline times when he ruled with an iron fist and I remember being thrown in the pool in the middle of January and told to "cool off".  But, the best part was, when the smoke cleared, you always heard "I love you", and no judgement remained after that.  Can I just say a clean slate feels good when you are growing up and often find yourself making the wrong decisions?  He was the rock of our family in tough times and has always has the strongest shoulders I know.  Simply put, I just wouldn't be where I am without my Daddy.  Thanks for the lessons, good and bad.  When my Grandpa Parks passed away, there was a poem I wanted that my Dad had given to my Grandpa sometime in the 1980's while we lived in San Antonio, TX.  It now hangs in my office.  Love you all the way around the world and back again!
As if one amazing Dad wasn't enough, Charles also grew up with a loving Father.  Yes, we are blessed!  Here is what he has to say about his Dad...

Every day we hear people telling us how we should live our lives, but we never get to see these people doing the things they say.  My dad has never been one much for much talking.  I guess that is where I get a good chunk of my quiet personality from.  As a result I have had the opportunity to not only hear his words of wisdom when they came, but I have been all the more blessed with seeing how life as a man/father/husband should be lived through the example he has set everyday for the past 34 years of my life.  A life of action to emulate in the good times and the not so good.  Who needs words when you have a living model to guide you.  Thank you Dad.
Lastly, because of the Fatherly influences mentioned above, I am blessed beyond words for the Father of my children and love of my life, Charles.  From the time I knew we were soul mates, I have imagined how our life would be with a family.  Words cannot express what an amazing Father he is.  Patient, kind, stern when needed, and always there to help.  He is one of the most active Father's and never misses an opportunity to tuck them in bed, get them a drink, change their clothes, be their coach, etc.  He has never complained about 2am wake up calls for nightmares, changing diapers, or having to stay home when one of them is sick.  I could not ask for a more perfect leader of our family.  I have no idea how I got this lucky, but I never take for granted that God gave him to me.  Thank you Charles for being the man you are, SHMILY!

Date night with the kids!

Tonight was a fun adventure for the kids.  Gamee/Grampee snuck Cade away for a special date night alone while we took Caelin on a Mommy/Daddy date.  Making sure each kid has their own time can be difficult, but SO worth it.  Cade enjoyed a trip to the Lego store and dinner with Gamee/Grampee.  Caelin chose ice cream and a movie as her date.  The night was perfect and we loved watching Caelin enjoy ALL the attention.  After ice cream, we got on our PJ's and laid in our bed watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and of course Peppa Pig.  Thanks Gamee/Grampee for spoiling Cade.  Can't wait to change up the fun next time.  I just love my babies and are blessed daily by them each.

My Favorite Graduate

They say your Passions in life are your callings and I agree.  Mine has always been to help others.  Many students have been dear to me, but there is something about Nicole that draws me to her.  Nicole has been a student of mine since she was in Elementary school.  I have seen her grow in so many ways, and I am beyond words that she is graduating today from High School with 38 of my other Seniors at all 4 High Schools.  YEARS of hard work are paying off for her.  Get ready world, here she comes!  She is gonna change more lives than I can imagine with her sense of humor, infectious smile and warm heart.  Love you Nicole, fly strong!  If you should ever stumble, call me, I will be right there.

Special Days with Gamee

Gamee days are a little less these days since she is still recuperating, but when Cade/Caelin get one...it is full on Gamee fun!  Splashing in the rain, books, legos, movie theatre, library and so much more!  There are just no words for the love that is poured out on the kids.  We are blessed with her spoiling them as much as she can.

Happy BD Baylor!

This year Baylor turned 10 years old.  Charles and I picked up Baylor in Waco when he was 9 weeks old.  The lady who raised him lived in Dallas and we decided Waco was a good place to meet (wonder why?).  At 9 weeks, he was a little ball of energy weighing 14 pounds and had the biggest paws for a pup I had ever seen!  We drove back home excited for our first member of the family.  Now, 10 years later, he is still our first baby and we love him.  His days are filled more with the kids chasing/riding him, being covered with stickers, hiding under our bed, or just watching the action from his chair.  Even though he may lick you to death or demand you pet him, he is dependable.  He is the first person at the door when I come home, and the last one to say goodbye at the door in the mornings.  Two words, faithful friend!  Happy 10th Birthday to Prince Baylor Bear of Piney Way!

Happy BD Gamee!

This year Gamee celebrated her 58th birthday.  Can't believe this young little chick is so inspiring and alive with energy.  For those of you who know Cindy already know what type of person she is.  She is God loving, kind hearted, caring, and giving in ALL that she does.  Even though she is recuperating, she has held her head high and not stopped doing for others.  We have had clothes stitched, dresses ironed, and not to mention she has made Caelin's BD dress and is working on her BD party/cake.  What a beautiful person she is inside and out.  I am blessed daily by her love for our family.  I can't believe the only BD pic that you can even see is this one of the kids hiding and jumping out with balloons.  We will have to get more pics next year! HaPpY BiRtHdAy GAMEE, we love you!
