Every year we get the joy of spending a Sunday afternoon after church at Mark Lanier's land. His Sunday school class and visitors they bring usually looks like close to 300 people. They serve BBQ plates on the lawn, have Baptisms in the lake, carnival style rides on the grounds for the kids, blow up/bounce houses for the kids, LOTS of animals to watch, and a train ride around the place. It is also nice if you have time to look at the chapel his built and some of the other structures. It is such a beautiful place and it is a blessing to watch him give back and let others enjoy what he is blessed with. Thanks for a beautiful afternoon with friends and family!

Bearkat Bash
Today was a big day for Cade. We were all so proud. He has been talking about running in a race and beating Grampee for a long time! He did run this 1K last year right after he turned 4yrs and I thought he would likely never do it again. Well, he just did! Grampee and Daddy ran in the 5K this morning and then we were all there to support Cade for his 1K race. Grampee ran along side toward the end, and you know what? CADE BEAT GRAMPEE (thanks Grampee for playing along)! He did it! Proud of Cade for running the whole way and never giving up. He told me he "pumped his arms the whole way to give him lightening speed". We love you Cade and congrats on your big accomplishment!

Happy 35th BD Daddy!
Charles is the best Man a family could ask for. I honestly have no idea how we got this lucky to have him in our lives. This year on his BD, we wanted to make it a special one so we surprised him at work with a pizza lunch and a Baylor theme! The kids were all in uniform and even Grampee was able to come. After a pizza lunch, we all ate a gorgeous Baylor themed cake made by Gamee. It was yummy as always and we even had some office staff join in on the signing for his BD! After work, we all met at Gringos with Aunt Heather and Andrew to celebrate together again. It was a great time for catching up and laughing. This time Gamee made Baylor themed cookies and we even shared with a table next to us that had a Baylor freshman student. Sic 'em Bears, Ha! I can only pray that this special day was perfect in every way for Charles. He is truly our rock, family foundation, and Father. We love you Daddy and Happy 35th Birthday!

Caelin starts Soccer
Every since Cade played Soccer, Caelin has been talking about playing. So, this year we asked them both who wanted to play. Cade preferred to take "time off" and Caelin was jumping up and down screaming. So, there you have it, Caelin's in soccer! At the first practice, our team was still missing a coach, so of course Charles became what Caelin calls "Daddy Coach". I love how she says Daddy first. That's the way it will always be Caelin, he is your Daddy first. First couple of practices have gone great, and we have our first game on Sept 27th. Of course just about every kid has had their ups and downs, and Caelin had a fit over waiting her turn to play. So, lots of learning to do, but we are excited to see how the season goes. Go Caelin, play hard!

1st day of School
Cade and Caelin will both be at CFBC this year for school. You probably saw in the Meet the Teacher post that Cade is now is Pre-Kinder and Caelin is in Preschool. I have no idea how time flies this fast, and I wish I could slow it down just a bit. Both of them were SO EXCITED to start school. I asked each of them what they wanted to be when they grew up, and both gave me comical answers. Cade would like to be a "wrestler AND a cowboy", and Caelin wants to be "just a kid"! Yep, that is exactly their personalities! Cade also mentioned that he would like to learn about bacon and counting. uh, ok. Anyway, it was a great morning and Daddy and I took off work to come see them off. Gamee and Grampee came along as well, so it was a family affair. Can't wait to see how this year will change their lives.
