Roomie Reunion

This weekend I was blessed with a chance to spend it with Carolyn and Britni who were my college roommates.  It had been over 5 years since we were all together, so it felt so good to get our hugs and just sit around and chat.  We stayed at Britni's family lake house in Uncertain, TX.  Yes...you read that right...the town is named Uncertain.  I had a good chuckle when I saw the signs.  Since Britni had just delivered her baby, we were also blessed to have sweet snuggles all weekend.  Over the weekend, we had coffee on the back porch each morning, took a walk, went for a boat ride down the river, explored the town a bit, cooked dinner, shared family stories/updates, and most importantly laughed about old stories.  There is something healing to the heart when you spend time with those you love.  I am lucky to know these women are here for me no matter what life brings.

Field Day at Ehrhardt!

Today was field day at Ehrhardt and both kids were so very excited!  Unfortunately, neither Charles or I could attend.  Gamee saved the day by being their biggest supporter and took lots of pictures for us.  The kids could not stop sharing stories at dinner tonight.  I remember field day when I was in elementary school and how fun it was.  I am pretty sure it was my favorite day each year!  So very happy to see the pictures and smiles after such a great event.

Retirement Celebration for Pam

Over 10 years ago, I met Pam.  Pam has been not only a dear friend but a mentor as well.  She has taught me so many things about Early Childhood and modeled practices for HUNDREDS of teachers across our district.  She spoils me often with her special cookies in which Cade/Caelin call "Pam cookies".  She is constantly thinking of others.  I knew the time was coming, but it is still hard to say goodbye regardless.  Our team celebrated by taking her to dinner and just taking time to laugh together.  I pray retirement is everything she worked for and more.  We will miss you, Pam!

A day to remind us of our blessings

Today is a special day indeed where we celebrate our Mother's.  It is tough to even describe how blessed and thankful we are for our Moms, Nana and Gamee.  We are aware that many children in today's society do not have a Mom as special as ours.  Charles and I were given such loving homes growing up with Mom's that support us unconditionally.  Both worked hard to provide for the families, wipe tears, make lunches, ensure homework was done and we were happy.  The drove us to countless practices/games, church socials, and school events.  Both were homeroom Mom's and still support the classrooms we work with today.  There are just no words to describe how blessed we are.  The best compliment is to say that I strive to be just like them as a Mom.  I want to be such a great Mom that my children receive the same legacy  I do and also want to be this great.  I pray the impact is just as great to Cade/Caelin as it is to me.  Thank you, Lord, for these beautiful women of God that you gave to us!

I also have to say thanks to Cade/Caelin for allowing me to experience Motherhood.  These two amazing individuals fill my heart daily with love and continue to make me laugh daily.  I can remember clearly the day that the first doctor told us we could not have kids.  My heart was shattered to pieces.  Through the rubble, I learned to trust God even when things are "not right" in your life.  We learned that God's timing is not our timing and that his timing is always PERFECT.  From the first day Cade was born, I never want a day to pass without making sure my babies know they are loved.  So, every night we will continue to sing Amazing Grace, say our bedtime prayer, give kisses on the forehead, and tickle each other to our song "I love you more".  Today makes me smile because it is a reminder to me of blessings and promises by God.

Happy 69th BD Mom!

Today we celebrated Mom's 69th birthday.  We started off with brunch at a local restaurant and ended with a visit to Petco to shop for our newest family member, Buddy.  It was such a relaxing and special day, I just wish we could have stayed longer before heading home to Pinehurst.  Always great to visit and sad to leave.  Praying this year is the year of health and happiness for Mom!  We love you Nana.

Welcome to the family Buddy!

Today we gained a new family member! I drove Mom to Dallas to pick up "Buddy" who is already attached to Mom!  Buddy is a rescue dog that she found when searching with Mendy and immediately fell in love with. Buddy is around 3 years old and is a Yorkie.  It was truly meant to be and Buddy already follows Mom everywhere.  Welcome to the family Buddy!  Now on to potty training you…
