Today was a great morning as we celebrated Ms. Shona's BD! Ms. Shona is the best bus driver and we have loved her since the moment we met 2 years ago. Every morning she arrives with a smile, is friendly to all the kids and treats them like her own. The neighbors all came together and 16 families came together to get her a Visa gift card. We also sang to her when she arrived to pick up the kids that morning. She was so surprised and it was the highlight of our day!
We had fun celebrating Cade tonight for making the Robotics Team! He was so surprised and then of course ice cream makes it perfect. Caelin was VERY supportive since ice cream was involved.
This season of life has been a busy one with soccer and football every Saturday morning. Today started as usual with sports before turning into the perfect night with friends. The annual "Concert in the Country" (benefiting Boots for Troops) is one of our favorite events. We look forward to this event every year as a family and get tickets months in advance with friends. My favorite part tonight was hearing "God Bless America" by fiddle and thinking of Grandma Watts. This year's line up included Josh Ward, Jake Worthington, Mike Donnell, Cody Wayne, Trent Cowie and Headliner Tracy Lawrence. Cade was excited to get a signed book by Fred Whitfield and Caelin loved donating all goods for care packages. Such a great event supporting our troops. We are blessed indeed!
We celebrated one amazing man tonight. I met him when I was 19 years old, and we started dating when I was 21yrs and he was 22yrs old. I have been blessed to say that my life partner is someone who challenges me daily, reminds everyone around him of the love of Jesus, shows grace and forgiveness, and models for our children what a servant looks like. Happy 40th birthday to our everything! You are loved beyond measure. A special thanks to Lone Pint in Magnolia, TX for being so gracious, Gamee for yummy cookies to celebrate, and Gamee/Grampee for a special slideshow of pictures of his life! The evening was perfect with friends from all stages of life there to celebrate and laugh with.
