Happy Mother's Day!

One of the best titles ever received is the title of Mom.  I wish Cade and Caelin knew how very blessed they are to have 2 Grandmother's who were/are the best role models for me as a Mom.  I believe that when life in conceived, God blesses Mother's with several instincts and develops us in ways we never could imagine.  Being a Mom is not easy.  There are too many sleepless nights to count, tears, heartache, and at times anger.  Some seasons of motherhood are physically and emotionally draining and leaving you feeling like you will never be enough.  But God.  But God steps in, gives us what we need and lifts our chins to see him.  The laughter, movie nights, hugs, millions of pictures, and the precious moments of "I love you" are worth every bit of it.  There is no job I love more than being a Mom.  Thank you to Nana and Gamee for leading by example.  Thank you to Charles for believing in me when I couldn't.  And most importantly, thank you Cade and Caelin for promoting my title to the best one yet...Mom.  Happy Mother's Day!

Last soccer game...

Caelin had a blast playing on the Inter Milan soccer team.  Our favorite part was the relationships she built with new friends.  Her favorite memories of the season were the tough goal she made and playing games against the coach during practice.  She has already said she is ready for the Fall season...so stay tuned for more soccer updates!

Happy 72nd Birthday Nana!

Today our precious Nana turns 72!  We love to drive her crazy, take her on new adventures, watch her excitement over ice cream, and hear her tell the kids "I never spanked your Mother's" (crickets chirping).  She keeps us updated on all things political and we are thankful for the little tasks that she lets us help with.  I am always proud of how she tries her best to keep up with the changes of life.  It has not always been easy, but I am CONFIDENT when I say that she is a fighter.  Happy Birthday Mom/Nana, we adore you! 

Girls Weekend in Fredericksburg. TX

It was an epic weekend filled with endless laughs, unexpected surprises, tons of shared stories, rainy day winery adventures, fun photo shoots, a slumber party dance party and so much more in the Texas Hill Country! My prayer is that everyone finds their tribe and does life with them. This was THE BEST weekend filled with laughs, dance parties, photo shoots, wine, and friendship. No flash floods were gonna stand in our way. Hard to pick my favorites out of 600 photos, lol. **Special shout out to our wonderful hubbies who held down the fort with all the kids!

2 week jury trial complete!

One of the priviledges we all have of being a citizen is assisting with Jury Duty.  Many people hide from Jury Duty, send in excuses, or just do not show up.  I personally feel like it is our civic duty to help with Jury Duty.  So, just over 2 weeks ago I reported to the Montgomery County courthouse in downtown Conroe to serve.  Of over 70 Jury members, the Judge called 14 of us to serve with 2 of us being alternates.  I was shocked to get chosen and then even more shocked to find out it would be a 2 week trial.  We had to be seated in the Jury box by 7:45am daily and then were released around 6pm each night.  I could choose to complain about the work I was missing, how Gamee had to assist with the kids, or the lack of sleep after an hour commute each way...but I see it as a service to others.  When it was all over, we awarded the largest settlement in Montgomery County history with over $20M. The people I sevred with became friends and the Judge was brilliant, funny, and fair to both sides.  I was honored to serve in this capacity. I sure hope Cade and Caelin see Jury Duty as a personal duty to help their community when they grow up.
