A Saturday in Texas: football and family fun!

Since the boys had another Patriot game, us girls just couldn't let 2 tickets to watch Baylor play UT go to waste...so we had to make another day trip for shopping and supporting our Bears.  It was a perfect afternoon with nice weather and a win.  An added bonus was Aunt Mendy being in town for a baby shower, so we got an hour after the game to catch up and shop a little.  After heading home, we went into Halloween mode with making a Halloween gingerbread house and carving our pumpkin.  This year, the kids wanted a mustache on the pumpkin, so our pumpkin was stylin' in his handlebar mustache.

Patriot Football Season

Cade's final regular season game as a Tomball Patriot has arrived.  For the past two years with the team Cade has grown as an offensive and defensive lineman. We are so proud of the growth he has made skill wise, but more importantly the type of player that he has become on the field. To honor him and the other Senior players the program held a Senior Night the Thursday before the game. During the recognition each Senior player was called up and recognized by the league. Each player received a plaque with their name and number (plus the team roster on the back).  Cade seemed to really like the plaque, but the biggest smile came as he high fived the all the younger players.

After a fun senior night Cade was selected as a captain for the last game against the Bengals.  The team and he played hard, but in end came up short. Despite the loss the growth in skill level and "never give up attitude" shone through brightly.  We will miss our days with the Patriots, but at the same time excited to see what Cade's athletic future holds.

Cade’s 1st Orchestra Concert

Cade has taken on a new adventure this year playing the Bass.  We are proud of him for his commitment to practicing daily at home.  Tonight he had his first performance and sat first chair.  Most of the performance was pizzicato and all the students did well together.  Even though the whole performance was 6 minutes, I was impressed that they already knew 4 songs.

Concert in the Country

Every year Boots for Troops sponsors "Concert in the Country" supporting soldiers.  It is an honor to support them and we get the pleasure of doing it while surrounded by our friends (AKA: Framily).  The show this year brought many great country artists, but the highlight was Pat Green for sure.  Being one of my favorite artists meant we also got to hang out near the stage and sing every song with him like we were in our 20's, ha!  The kids enjoyed running around with all their friends, singing along to some songs they know as well, and being forced to dance with their parents at least one song.  Yep, it was a pretty perfect night!
