Cade's Holiday PS Program

Today was Cade's Preschool Holiday program.  He did well and stayed on the stage the entire time. He did participate in 2 songs, one with the actual motions.  About 1/3 of the time he just starred at the audience, 1/3 of the time he talked to the adult next to him, and 1/3 of the time he sang and did the motions.  We may not be in for a career in theater, but he was the MOST Handsome little man up there.  Congrats Cade, we love you!

Santa Sighting!

Tonight we saw SANTA at Market Street in The Woodlands.  We love this Santa and it is much more calm and relaxing than when Santa visits in the mall.  Not to mention Market street with its tree and shops is an added bonus!  Gamee/Grampee bought sub sandwiches and we brought chips...so it was a perfect picnic.  Even Aunt Heather/Uncle Christopher, Baby Andrew and Grandma Sharon came!  It was a blast.  Now, as for the Santa part....

Cade was excited up to 2 seconds before sitting on Santa's lap.  He walked right up there, sat on Santa's lap, and then proceeded to look like he was not impressed.  He did manage to mumble out Legos when asked about his wants though.  His picture let's you know exactly what he was thinking.

Caelin on the other hand was NOT HAPPY with the whole thing in general.  When asked what Santa says, she will grunt 3 times for "ho ho ho", but this does NOT mean she wants to go anywhere near Santa.  :)  She adamantly shook her head "NO" when asked if she wanted to see Santa.  Caelin is a girl who knows what she wants as she made it VERY clear she did NOT want to be near Santa.  You get the idea when you see her picture.

Finally of course Cade smiled when they were both on Santa's lap.  So, enjoy the pics!

The story of Jesus' birth as told by Cade

Tonight, Cade decided for story time that he would tell me the story of Jesus' birth for a change.  I thought it was a great idea and even gave him his nativity set with felt characters to use.  I must say that I held back the giggling for the most part, and was very proud of my little 3 year old.  You are so smart Cade and we love you!  Here goes the story...

"This is the story of once upon a time Jesus and his Mommy and Daddy.  In came and angel and his name was Gabriel.  Did you know that Mommy? (I shake my head smiling) Ok, well Gabriel told Mary, you will get plump (plump might be from out "Plump and Perky Turkey" book) and have a baby.  And guess what Mary?!!  YOU WILL NAME HIM BABY JESUS!  Then, all the king's horses and men yelled HOORAY for Mary. (I think this might have been a Humpty Dumpty reference) Mary then told her husband who yelled YIPPEE! (Hmmmmm...)  Then they were walking around when Mary was plump and found a hotel that was too full.  Instead they found a stable.  Mommy, a stable is a manger, you need to learn that.  (I smile and say Ok)  So, this manger was cool and had animals and all.  There was a cow next to Mary that said MOOOOOO in her ear.  Joseph saw a donkey and petted it.  Then Gabriel came again and said "Hello, you followed directions".  Mary was happy.  Then baby Jesus came out (at this point Cade pulled the felt baby Jesus that was behind Mary out from underneath her...I was holding back the laughing so hard) and Gabriel flew around in circles saying "YEEE HAW". THE END!!!

It should also be noted that Cade asked why the wise men gave baby Jesus a Frankenstein toy the other night.  This was thanks to Daddy who tried to tell him the specific gifts that the wise men brought...gold, frankincense, and Myrrh.

Jingle's busy week

Our advent calendar also provided us some fun times this week including: learning to do nice things for others, making cookies, being silly in holiday socks, making ornaments together, and family movie night with popcorn.  See why this is our favorite time of year?!

Pancakes with Santa

Caelin was feeling a little under the weather, so us girls stayed home while Daddy and Cade went to have Pancakes with Santa!  Santa came in on a firetruck, and I think Cade liked that part the best.  Daddy reported that Cade asked Santa for a "toy firetruck and transformer rescue bots".  They had a fun morning playing with other kids and making a Christmas tree ornament.

Jingle's 1st week

Oh Jingle...we are SO HAPPY she is back!  Jingle is our family elf at Christmas time that makes her way to us during the day time and flies home to Santa at night while the kids are sleeping.  Cade seems to be VERY NICE knowing Jingle is watching and reporting to Santa.  Can I get a "what what!"?  Hahaha!  I am trying to think of how to have Jingle stay around around year!  So, the fun part is watching where Jingle appears each morning.  Some days she can be naughty, and some days she is nice.  Caelin loves to find her to, but has not quite grasp the fact that you cannot touch Jingle.  This makes Cade very angry, but I think we are all getting the hang of it.  Here is Jingle's first week in review.
Another new fun daily activity we started this year is our Advent calendar!  We bought this new addition at our family reunion in New Braunsfels this past summer.  Cade helped me put it all together and it has some fun family activity each night.  Caelin still thinks the hanging decorations are there for her to swing on, so we are working on that, but we do get a kick out of how proud she is each time they move when she slaps them.  Yesterday we made snowflakes and Cade decided to hang them in his room.  Today we are reading the story of Jesus' birth.  It is just another way for me to sneak in about 15-30 minutes of family fun daily.
