Some parents say that the Meet the Teacher day before school starts is a day that brings tears to their eyes. It is a special moment when students and teachers first connect as they head into a new year of learning. Well, today was the day for Caelin as she enters the 5th grade at a new school. Cade was excited to show his little sister around his old campus. The tears started as soon as Caelin walked in the campus doors. Unfortunately, it was not because of excitement or even nerves. It was because of an allergic reaction to cats from Gameee’s house. Apparently, she hid under the bed as she played hide and seek with the cousins where there was lots of cat fur. By the time she arrived at TJHS her eye was red, swollen, and watering. She decided she could tough it out and still meet her teachers. However, as we finished walking the swelling got worse and a water blister even began to form on her eye. So, what began as an exciting experience, ended with an equally exciting trip to the local Urgent Care for an allergy shot and antihistamines. Thankfully she did get to meet some of her teachers and is still looking forward to the new school year!
