Today was a memorable day, although sad for me. How can my baby be ONE YEAR? No more telling people, I have a "9, 10, or 11 month old". My Princess is now one year. In between tears today, I thanked God for every memory this past year has brought. What a beautiful person Caelin is. Caelin's smile is contagious and can turn your worst day into your happiest in a matter of seconds!
Now on to milestones and fun things! She now has 1.5 teeth...we are still working on getting that second tooth to come in all the way. She is so close to walking on her own, but is not quite brave enough to let go of our pinky finger. She just likes the reassurance that someone is there! She will mumble "mama", "dada", and will grunt for Cade. She can point out people that she knows as well as Baylor if you ask her to. She is now in to pointing out everything. We label everything she points to in hopes she will start to say some more words. My favorite thing right now is her dance moves. She loves to put her hands in the air and dance to some music. During the day, she will eat 3 main meals now, with snacks in between. To say that Caelin is an eater is an understatement! Our Princess can pack away the food! She rarely finds something that she does not like. We have found that she does not care for strawberries or melons though. It is common for her to polish off about 5 oz of food and 7oz of milk all in one meal. At night time, she sleeps about 11-12 hours and usually takes 1 nap that is between 1-2 hours. She has such a happy disposition. Caelin prefers to be with everyone, and does not like being alone. In fact, if we are cooking dinner, she wants you to hold her so she can witness all the action. She LOVES it when Cade plays with her, although big brother is still working on his sharing skills. She enjoys playing peek-a-boo and instead of covering her eyes, will cover the sides of her face. Her favorite "attachment toy" is her pacifier(s). She is just now starting to take a liking to her pink teddy bear blankie, but will quickly trade that for a pacifier. She will give her baby dolls and toys with faces a kiss. At night time, she is now starting to enjoy reading and listening to books. This has been fun as she is really starting to stare and notice pictures more. She will also point out things she likes on the page and smile or laugh. Caelin is DEFINITELY going to be a girly girl! She loves to look at shoes, try on different ones, and put numerous bows in her hair. She is going to be a diva for sure! She has been swimming several times and doesn't mind as long as someone is holding her tightly. She is not a fan of the "put me in a baby float and let me float away"...has to be held. Recently, her right ankle was bothering her a bit, so she was not wanting to even attempt walking. I think it was just a growing pain and now she is back on track to almost walking. At her 1 year old check up, here were her stats: weight- 22lbs 4oz (65%), height- 29.75in (65%), and head circumference was at 90%.
To celebrate her birthday, we slept in (YAHOO) and then went to a new place in the Woodlands called "Zunum". It was fun and had some great indoor places for toddlers and big kids to play. It was nice for Caelin to finally be able to have a place to play. The food was also great and Gamee/I had Crepes, Daddy had a Bison burger, and Cade had chicken strips. We were so happy when Grampee surprised us on his lunch break to see us! To help celebrate, the restaurant provided a BD cookie for Caelin. It was so much fun and a nice place we plan to go back to. Next, we went home for naps and then got ready for dinner. We met Gamee/Grampee at Joe's Crab Shack to celebrate. Cade had a great time playing most of the night on the big play scape while Caelin did her favorite thing...eat. She is truly so funny! After dinner, Gamee had made cupcakes and cake balls for desert. Caelin LOVED her pink cupcake and couldn't get enough of it! I would say the celebration was a success since we left the restaurant with a half naked little girl. It was a total walk of shame as we went to the car, but so worth it! After all this fun, both kids fell asleep in the car and Charles and got to celebrate our baby turning one together. It truly was a magical day. We will celebrate her BD this Saturday with a family party also, so stay tuned for more BD fun.
Congratulations Caelin Roe on all your accomplishments this first year. You have brought more sunshine to the family than we could have ever imagined. We pray God keeps you safe, healthy, and happy this next year. We look forward to watching you grow into the beautiful girl God intended. We love you all the way around the world and back again!
