Its reunion time! This year Charles and I were in charge of the reunion and decided on an Aloha theme. We went back to Inn of the Hills in Kerrville again and had a great time. Friday night, everyone went to Mamacitas and we were able to celebrate Chris' birthday all together. After dinner, we enjoyed time in the meeting room with puzzles and bidding on auction items. Saturday we had "aloha donuts" in the morning before heading out to explore The Coming King Sculpture Praying Garden with Aunt Linda/Uncle Jim/Kinlyn and lunch. We enjoyed reading the history of how the 77.7" cross was erected and seeing all the sculptures. Caelin loved writing her prayers on a rock for the rock garden. It was such a beautiful sight on top of the hill on I-10. For lunch, we tried a new place called Grape Juice. We loved that it was located on the river and we were able to enjoy time on the patio. Next, we headed back to the hotel for a bit of swimming and family game time. Gamee/Grampee were in charge of the games this year and they were so much fun. Games included: watermelon seed spitting contest, Tiki head toss, Human ring toss with hula hoops, and family name Bingo. Saturday evening was filled with a pizza dinner buffet, margaritas, a tasty luau cake by Gamee, wrapping up the auction, family pictures, and time of celebrations. A few special celebrations shared included the success of Lee Bailey's lung transplant, 55yr wedding anniversary of Charles and Kay Bailey and the announcement of Corey Hall's engagement! We were all so excited for Corey and Laura! Charles led a message time reminding us how God helps to reconcile, settle, and preserve the family unit. Aunt Linda led the singing of hymns and a special request to hear the LeCour sisters and Aunt Kay sing together was granted. The reunion was a huge success and we are constantly reminded that our family is truly blessed!
