We had the privilege of spending the entire week with Nana and were so excited to see her. Covid kept us home for safety reasons, but we still found lots to do while helping her with doctor appointments and to-do's around the house. We enjoyed cooking out, swimming, cousin sleepovers, rock painting (on summer bucket list!), Pedicures (we had to sit 6 feet apart and wear masks the entire time, but our feet look good), lots of walks exploring the county road and corn fields, geocaching, making homemade pizzas, and surprising Mendy with coffee at work. Nana felt great most of the time we were there and we enjoyed "playing" with her each day. The last night we were there, we had a celebration dinner for Frank and Kathy Sammons. They have lived next door to Mom & Dad since 1991 for almost 30 years. They have become Mama K and Frank to us and watched us grow up. They have seen the bad and the good and still loved us anyway. They have answered every call and have been there for the toughest times when we lost Daddy in 2015. I will never forget Kathy taking off her shoes and packing them directly into Mom's suitcase for the funeral when we couldn't find Mom's dress shoes. Saturday morning they pulled out with 3 large Uhaul trucks for their Move to Magnolia. Although we are all sad, I am happy they will be closer to me. Such great memories! The kids were both crying when we left because they wanted to stay longer with Nana. This is heartbreaking for me, but I know we will see each other again soon.
