Family vacay to Oklahoma was a HUGE success! We have been planning the trip for about 6 months and everyone was able to list activities they wanted to do. So, the days were filled with various activities and groups went their own way depending on what the adventure of the day was. The cabin we rented was PERFECT for us 9 and had a bedroom and private bath for all adults/couples, as well as a separate room with beds for all the kids. The cabin even had a foosball table and air hockey! Outside you could enjoy the fire pit, hot tube on the screened in porch, a game of horseshoes, and swing alongside nature on the back patio. Our first day there, Charles and I took Cade and Mackenzie ziplining in the morning before meeting up with everyone for some axe throwing, distillery tour, hot tub and more. The next day we mined for gold (no luck, lol), went on a Dinosaur dig, had a girls wine tasting event and shopping, kids/Dad's raced go karts, hung out at house, and then some are headed out to Casino. I think our greatest laughs came when Nana rode the dinosaur. You just can't control what Nana will do, haha! June 19th was a special day as Charles and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary with our hardest terrain yet for a 11 mile hike in the Mountains. Hiking has a lot of lessons that are practical for marriage...take turns being lead, sometimes you question the path, sometimes there are no paths, things will sting you, obstacles are always present, and you be tired. However, the joy of completing the journey together makes it all perfect. A few years back, we started doing something hard on our anniversary and have continued the tradition. Charles may laugh when I fall, but he always helps me up. While we were hiking, the rest of the crew enjoyed putt putt mini golf and ice cream. That night we all went on a sunset Tiki Boat Tour of Broken Bow Lake followed by dinner at Foggy Bottom Kitchen. It was a nice relaxing end to our perfect day. Not to mention that Foggy Bottom Kitchen was the best food on our trip! On our last full day, we took a family horseback riding adventure and then did some final shopping and relaxing at the house while packing up to leave the next morning. Caelin said her favorite part of the trip was the horses and Cade said the Zipline. While I loved the boat tour, the hiking took the prize for Charles and I. We are constantly reminded how blessed we are to be able to enjoy family with vacations like this. I hope our family of 9 continues to do this every year!
