Alpha Chi Omega has been more to me than a Sorority. My love of AXO started when Mendy was at Baylor and introduced me to some of the girls. I instantly knew that these girls were where I belonged and that their friendship would be one of the highlights of my Baylor experience. AXO and our advisor, Mrs. Sherri, gave me my most precious college memories of events, laughter, and sisterhood. Events like Crush, dances, foam parties, trips with dates around Texas, tailgates, SING, and so much more. AXO was where I credit much of my leadership skills as well. Being honored to lead as President my Senior year was a humbling and powerful experience for me. Having teams of Vice Presidents and learning to navigate many personalities helped mold me and made me a better person. Our philanthropy was the Waco Family Abuse center where I spent many hours serving and organizing benefit events. One of the Directors at the time, Dinah, was one of the first person in Waco to challenge me to give more of myself and see the greater purpose of serving others. She also ran the Waco Bingo hall in which gave proceeds back nightly to the Waco Family Abuse center. Eventually, this became my college job working in the Bingo hall and earning $25 for a 2 hour shift (plus tips). I will always proudly wear the red/green and think fondly of my sisters when I see a red carnation or golden lyre. Today marks my 25th year of being inducted into AXO and the Baylor chapter of Theta Iota celebrates 40 years on campus! I am so grateful for the memories and will continue to "Seek New Heights".
