Spring Break in Grapeland

Every Spring Break, our family makes the annual pilgrimage to Grapeland, and it never disappoints. It is always nice to get away for a few days and leave behind some of the worries of work and school. We met Gamee and Grampee there and spent the week enjoying simple family traditions like working puzzles, sharing family dinners, and spending plenty of time fishing, with the crappie and bass both biting well. The dogwoods and wildflowers were in full bloom, making the countryside even more beautiful than usual. Caelin even got in some high jump practice at Grapeland High School and did some of her first real driving of the truck, which Mom was not overly excited about. Cade brought along his 5-string bass guitar and could occasionally be found practicing on the front porch. We wrapped up the trip the best way possible…with a fish fry and plenty of good memories. These times we have with Gamee and Grampee are truly priceless and will be core memories forever in our hearts.
