Caelin's FIRST HAIRCUT!

Caelin got her FIRST haircut today!!  Nana's hairstylist, Mrs. Susie, was up for the challenge and did a GREAT job!  She straightened Caelin's hair to get a better dry cut, so we were also amazed with how her hair looked all straight.  It was gorgeous, but we still missed the curls.  We trimmed about an inch off of her entire hair.  Ms. Susie said she really did not have many split ends which was surprising to me, but I am just glad it is a little more healthy.  I really did not think our first haircut would be when she was fixing to turn 4 years old, but it is so hard to grasp the though of cutting any of those curls.  It was a great time by all and Caelin felt super proud of herself and loved her "new flat" hair.  Ha!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's day to all the great men out there. I was so blessed to have a man that was my Father.  I knew this day would be painful and I have had anxiety about it for weeks.  It is not that I do not want to think of him, but the pain is just so surreal that he is gone.  I miss him every day and know I never get that hug from my "Daddy" again.  The permanence of the day is heartbreaking.  However, I am claiming Philippians 4:8 and try to focus on whatever is true, beautiful, just, etc.  He was every part of the word "Daddy". He taught me how to follow Jesus, love, be bold, go after what you want, forgive, and the determination to be better than you were the day before. Unfortunately, I only had 34 years with him, but man was it quality time. I love you Dad and will make sure to visit Starbucks for you. Secondly, I have Charles. I see the way he loves our babies and nothing is better than that in life. He is a great Father with patience, love, and slow to anger. He is more precious than anything this life could offer. Not to mention my Father-in-love, Fred Hall.  No doubt my husband learned to be a man and great Father from his amazing example in his Dad. No matter what time of day/night or what the problem is, he is there. I honestly could not say enough about these 3 men. The best I can do is say I am blessed and that these 3 men are the best Father's this world has to offer.  Happy Father's Day!

Happy 11 years to us!

All I can say is that God knew exactly what he was doing the day he joined Charles and I.  No marriage is ever perfect, but it is vital to never lose faith in each other.  I can honestly say that I love Charles and I know we are meant to spend eternity together.  So, to celebrate our 11 years of love, we were able to spend our anniversary in Sugarland, TX.  The kids stayed with Gamee/Grampee so that we could enjoy "us" time.  We had no plans and ate, drank, and shopped till were exhausted!  It was such an amazing time to just have moments to focus on each other, talk, and laugh.  Thank you God for our amazing love, blessed family, and all we have accomplished in the last 11 years.  SHMILY Charles!

"Parks Lillies" are blooming!

The calm before the storm in Houston and look what bloomed today... The "Parks Lillies"! These started with my Grandpa Parks and he grew tons of bulbs, split them, and now almost every grandkid has them and countless friends. Mine bloom every year the week of our Wedding Anniversary. So, with Friday being our Anniversary, they are right on time!  A great reminder that our family is always around us, even if not physically here.  Love you Grandpa and miss ya!

Caelin's 1st Dance Recital

Well, we made it through a season (6 months) of dance.  Caelin was excited, but I think maybe she wants to try gymnastics or soccer next.  She faithfully went to the Monday practices and today performed in her first recital.  Nana came into town and Gamee/Grampee were there also.  As always, we had one beautiful little Princess with a lot of supporters!  The recital theme was "Winter Wonderland" with her class performing a ballet routine and a tap routine to Frosty the Snowman.   Even Cade sat through the 23 dances and loved seeing Caelin on stage.  For the first dance (ballet), Caelin was a bit scared and started to cry.  However, she was able to get it together quickly before going on stage with her fellow 3 dance friends.  I was so proud of her courage.  Needless to say the next dance did not take much coaching as she went right out.  Afterward we were all able to go to dinner and enjoy time as one big family.  It was such a fun event...even if Mommy had to learn stage make-up, dance routines, and the difference in tan tights vs tan hose!
