impromptu Round Rock visit

This weekend we decided to make a last minute decision to head to Round Rock for some family time.  We drove into town Friday morning and then spent the afternoon at Inner Space Cavern on I-35.  I had been staring at a picture for years now of when Charles and Cade went to Inner Space Caverns with Daddy in 2013. So, I decided it was time we go back as a family and take Caelin for the first time.  Cade loved the rock formations and hearing how the cave was discovered.  Caelin enjoyed the formations that looked like ice cream cones and the soda straw ceiling.  We even had a chance to mine for precious gems at the end.  As if that wasn’t fun enough, we completed the evening with a pool party at Nana’s with seafood nachos.  What a relaxing day!  On Saturday, the cousins played hard all day while it rained.  When the clouds broke that afternoon, we went to the park before heading to Nana’s for dinner.  That evening, the cousin’s had a sleepover at Nana’s while us 4 “kids” went out country dancing at Coupland’s.  This place will always hold a special place in our hearts as this is where our rehearsal dinner was 13 years ago.  It was a fun evening with friends and family.  To wrap up the fun filled weekend, we decided we needed a trip to Typhoon Texas so we could get in a water park adventure for the summer.  Whew…thank you God for these fun family moments.  Cade and Caelin slept 2 hours on the ride home to Tomball, ha!

Happy Anniversary to us!

13 years flies by when you are with the one you love!  I have no doubt that God makes one perfect match for everyone out there.  Charles is mine.  He blesses me every day and is the man I always dreamed of.  Thank you God for this man, 13 years of love, and cheers to many more years!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all those amazing Father's out there! While my heart may hurt and long for a hug from my Daddy, I smile through the tears knowing I am surrounded by other loving Father's still on Earth. I love Fred for taking me like his own daughter and being there for us no matter what. And then there is this man pictured here. This man is the BEST Father, Husband, and best friend any little girl could dream of. He is our spiritual leader, protector, and giver. He demonstrates unconditional love on a daily basis and we ADORE you Charles!  May today remind you how much we love you Happy Father's day!

Girls weekend in Waco

Each summer, we have a BFF girls weekend.  This year, Lizzy, Christina and I went back to Waco.  It was fun to travel the city and see how campus has changed.  On Friday, we started with lunch at Bangkok Royal, pedicures and Ninfas for dinner.  Saturday we brunched at CafĂ© Homestead and explored the grounds.  The rest of the day was spent shopping, pool side, and catching up.  On Sunday we slept in before grabbing brunch at a new eatery and walking the Baylor campus with a coffee from Common Grounds.  It was such a fun weekend with friends who make my heart whole.  Love you girls!

Happy BD Baylor

Today would have been our first (furry) child's 13th birthday. He taught us how to be parents and showed more loyalty than imaginable. He was always at the door waiting, loved to be outside and would wake up if someone whispered the word "treat". We miss him so much, but I know Daddy is in Heaven feeding him popcorn. We love and miss you Baylor!

End of 1st grade and Happy BD Gamee!

Another milestone this week…Cade finished 1st grade!  I guess that means we officially have a Kinder and 2nd grader in the house. Where did the time go? To celebrate Cade's special day, Gamee, Grampee, and Caelin brought him lunch and then I picked him up so we could drive away to 'Schools out for Summer"! The fun was not over though as he was attacked with silly string once we got to Gamee's house. So much fun and a lot to celebrate in our family this week. Thank you to his fabulous teacher, Theresa Ivins, for her love and support.  Congratulations Cade, you had a fantastic year and we could not be prouder of the young man you are becoming. We KNOW God has big plans for you in life!

In addition to Cade graduating, we also celebrated Gamee’s birthday!  She is a woman of Daily sacrifices and constantly shows the love of God in all she does.  To celebrate, the entire family went to dinner at Frey’s.  It was a perfect evening with perfect weather!
