We had the joy of celebrating Mendy’s 47th birthday today. It was a day filled with Starbucks, shopping, laughter, and special moments. We shopped at Ulta, Bath and Body Works and a few places before grabbing Mom for a Cato adventure shopping. Later, we headed out for a wonderful dinner at Chuy’s before Nana took the kids to see Moana 2 and we headed out to Coupland Dance Hall to celebrate. Mendy is an amazing sister, a caring and thoughtful aunt, a devoted daughter, and a wonderful mother. Her selflessness, warmth, and ability to make everyone feel loved and supported are just a few of the countless reasons she is so special to all of us. She is truly my other half! My sister has been my biggest cheerleader since I was born and God knew exactly what traits each of us needed to navigate our lives. I could call her anytime and she would drop everything to get to me. We have had highs and lows together, but have stood strong together no matter what life brings. Thank you for being my Yoda and staying shorter than me. I love you more than you could ever imagine and am so happy we got to spend the day together celebrating. Happy BD Sis! "3

Christmas Celebrations in Round Rock

CHRISTmas
Christmas Eve began with a beautiful candlelight service at Champion Forest. Opting for the 3 PM service ensured we had enough time to gather at the house afterward for a Christmas Eve dinner at our house. The service was uplifting, with the candlelight portion being particularly touching—it always feels like a moment of peace and reflection amid the holiday craziness. A time to remember that we are celebrating for one reason, Jesus. After the service, everyone came over to enjoy a festive dinner together at our house. The menu was full of family favorites: charcueterie tray by Cade, tamales, green chile chicken enchiladas, cilantro rice, beans, dessert tray by Caelin, and crème brûlée. Sharing a meal like this, surrounded by loved ones, is always one of the highlights of the season. Once dinner was finished, the fun continued with a spirited game of Mexican Lottery, or Lotería. Laughter and good-natured competition filled the room, and Andrew and Uncle Christopher seemed to have the best luck, taking home most of the wins. Afterward, everyone headed home to get some rest for the big day ahead. Charles started a brisket on the smoker for Christmas lunch before we read our final stories of the night. Before going to bed, we read aloud The Night Before Christmas and Luke Chapter 2, centering our hearts on the true meaning of the holiday. This has been a Hall family tradition that we carry on as Mumps used to read The Night Before Christmas and Grumps would read Luke chapter 2. At this point, we were all ready for bed but still brimming with excitement for the day to come. Christmas Day began with brisket breakfast tacos and freshly brewed coffee—about as perfect a start as any morning could have. The kids dove into their stockings, eager to see what surprises Santa had brought them. Around 11, we packed up to head to Gamee and Grampee’s house. The journey took an unexpected turn when the Buick began overheating on the way. Thankfully, Grampee came to the rescue, helping us switch vehicles and get back on the road. The minor hiccup didn’t dampen the holiday spirit—it only added a memorable twist to the day! Lunch at Gamee and Grampee’s was a feast: brisket, green beans, and cheese grits. As always, the food was delicious, and the company even better. Afterward, we gathered to exchange gifts. Everyone felt truly blessed by the thoughtful presents: Lego sets, headphones, books, and more. The joy and gratitude in the room were palpable, a reminder of what Christmas is really about—cherishing the time spent with family and reflecting on the blessings in our lives. This Christmas was one for the books—full of family traditions, unexpected adventures, and the simple joys of being together. We ended the day with full hearts and the memories of a holiday well spent.
