Today was our very first swim lessons ever! Cade has never been a HUGE fan of the pool, so we had waited till he was 4 and able to focus a little more. Caelin on the other hand is a pool baby and loves the water (minus today I guess). We decided to do lessons with Coach Lynn Simmons from Ehrhardt Elem. Cade really likes her and will have her as a PE Coach at Ehrhardt, so we were excited to get started. I gave the usual, you have to listen to Coach Simmons, say yes mam, etc. Cade went first and did GREAT! He dunked his head several times, blew bubbles under water, wore goggles the whole time, and kicked back and forth the length of the pool about 4 times. He was a great listener and even when a little scared, was nice and compliant. I was so proud of him. Then came Caelin's turn. Little miss Princess was just in a mood today. She crossed her arm and stomped her foot before ever even getting in the water. Coach was so sweet and gave it her best today. At one point, Coach had Caelin on the pool noodle going the length of the pool. The ENTIRE time, Caelin was screaming "I don't want to ride the noodle!" I tried to work with her when she came back and it was just no bueno. So, one out of two kids isn't bad, right? We go again tomorrow in the morning, so here's to hoping that we have better attitudes in the morning! Here are a few pics to document my precious swim babies on their first day. And yes, I took a picture of Caelin crying. What kind of Mom would I be if I didn't take a picture of the entire event? Finally, to end our afternoon, we got ice cream at Sonic. Caelin wanted her usual "pink ice cream" (strawberry), and Cade got cookie dough (his favorite). Thank you Lord for a beautiful day!
