Every year, Charles' Mom's family gets together for the McCharen Family reunion. We make a commitment to go every year if we can because knowing the value of family and where you come from is very important to us. Not to mention, I am sure Mamee (Charles' Great Grandma) and Mumps (Charles' Grandma) are watching us and smiling as the family gathers each year. This year, the family returned to TBarM in New Braunsfels for a fun weekend. As usual on Friday night we gathered at a Mexican restaurant to enjoy some good food and laughter. Saturday morning and early afternoon we were able to decide what we individually wanted to do. Of course our immediate family went shopping in Gruene, TX and ate at our favorite place, the Gristmill. I sure wish we had a place with views like this near us! When we returned back to TBarM that afternoon, it was packed with games, cards, dominoes, silent auction, and a pinata. You just never know what you mind wind up doing. That night we all enjoyed a BBQ dinner together before the silent auction closed and the family stories/pictures began. It was a great time of sharing memories and remembering those who are no longer with us. Sunday morning we enjoyed breakfast before heading out to Sea World to meet Aunt Mendy and Uncle Chris. We are so blessed to have 2 amazing families and memories that make us smile. Until next year McCharen clan...
