We decided for our big vacation this year to return to Florida and stay in the same Beach house in Sandestin. We love our sweet little house and it has everything we need. Pool within walking distance, golf cart ride to beach (through the "magical tunnel" as the kids called it) and wharf, shopping, restaurants, and so much more! We are also just a 15 minute drive to Destin to do even more fun things. We decided this year to leave at 2:30am and drive straight through. I was nervous at first, but it was actually perfect. By the time the kids and I woke up, we were half way there. So, the 10 hour drive only felt like 5 hours. One of the main reasons we love this place is the laid back atmosphere and NO RUSH. We just do what we feel like every day and don't worry about the next. How relaxing is that?! Not to mention the white sand beaches, clear water, ice cream, and amazing weather. We spent several days at the beach and pool. Cade/Caelin loved playing in the waves, but were not fond of the sand and getting "dirty". So, we decided a pool visit was natural after the beach each day. A few nights we went to the Baytowne Wharf where we enjoyed live music, games, dancing, great food, inflatables, shopping, etc. The kids called this place the "magical playground" and asked to go there every night. We also did a fun adventure on a pirate ship one evening. We were not quite sure what to expect, but it turned out to be an amazing adventure finding treasure, learning about pirates, fighting other pirates, and of course earning some loot. I think this may have been their favorite part. Charles' favorite part was relaxing on the back porch with a local cigar, and mine was of course the beach. The last morning we were there, I couldn't sleep and decided to head to the beach around 5:30 to catch the sunrise. WOW was I amazed. The beach was beautiful and allowed me some thinking time to praise God for his works and of course think of my Daddy. We had such a relaxing week and when we left the kids asked when we were coming back to our beach house. Soon I hope!
