We had a busy weekend
celebrating with the Parks family and enjoying life. We alternate holidays between
families, so this year was Thanksgiving with the Parks’ and Christmas with the
Hall’s. Thus, we celebrated Christmas
early by heading to Round Rock for 4 days of holiday cheer! We started with a shrimp boil and gift
exchange Saturday night. On Sunday, we ate
brunch at a farm to table restaurant called “Greenhouse” and then the
girls/boys parted ways. The girls
enjoyed pedicures and Starbucks while the boys went to see the new Star Wars
movie “Rogue One” in 3D. The afternoon
was made complete with cookie decorating (yes, we had the annual BYOB cookie),
painting window ornaments, and pizza with holiday shows on TV. Unfortunately, Aunt Mendy and Uncle Chris
still had to work on Monday…so Nana, Kennybug, and Jax joined us for a special
day filled with breakfast tacos, lunch out, seeing Moana at the Theatre, frozen
yogurt, and Rosa’s CafĂ© for our last dinner together. It was a quick, but fun filled trip. We did a great job of making sure that we
maximized every second we can with family.
This time of year is just a great reminder that celebrating Our Lord and
family are the most important things.
Unfortunately, we have learned that this life does not last forever…so
being strong in your faith and living life to the fullest should be a
priority. We are blessed beyond belief.
