Christmas time is always a special time, regardless of when you celebrate it. This definitely proved to be true this year as we had in a way 3 Christmas celebrations. The first being on Christmas day, but only with Gamee and Grampee due to Covid. The second was with all of the Parks family in Round Rock. The third Christmas celebration came on New Years Eve. All of the usual people were there, but we had some special guests as Corey, Laura, and Dylan made a surprise visit. It was a packed house with 13 people, but it was worth it. At times you forgot that it wasn't really Christmas Day. We began the day at 10:30am at Gamee and Grampee's house as we exchanged gifts with each other. Stacy, the kids, and I were blessed with lots of amazing gifts. After the gifts we ate an incredible meal that could have fed an army: brisket, cheese grits, beans, green beans, fruit salad, crescent rolls, and of course lots of desserts. Nobody went hungry and we ended the night with full bellies and happy hearts. However, part of the big day that was not to be lost in the Christmas celebration was Bear's birthday. Even though it seems like we just drove to pick him up in Waco yesterday, Bear turned 6 years old. Of course he was loved on all day by everyone and even got some special cookies to eat while we sang him Happy Birthday. Happy Birthday to our baby Bear-Bear! After the Christmas celebration and Bear's birthday festivities we headed back home. Normally this would have been a full day and sent us to bed without hesitation, but it was New Years Eve. So, once we unloaded the car and regrouped ourselves the four of us headed to the Lagarto cul-de-sac to meet up with the Framily. We had a great time catching up with friends, watching football, and staying warm by the fire lit by a Christmas tree. By the end of the evening the adults were ready to call it a night, but the evening would not be complete without heading to the neighborhood bridge to light some fireworks. Cade was definitely the one who was the most excited about this as he packed up his fireworks and had a "blast" until midnight. As tired as we all were it was nice being able to ring in the New Year with family and friends.
