After sleeping in (remember our 3am adventure?), we ventured out for a special Geocache find. It was an extra large travel bug hotel and we were so excited to collect 3 travel bugs to bring to Texas. We have found about 10 geocaches in Canada and Washington, but no travel bugs until this final cache. We then walked the streets of Fairhaven again and wondered into Jalepenos Mexican Cantina. This was our first Mexican food in over 2 weeks and we were surprised at how good it was! Next we walked to Stones Throw Brewery which had 5 star google ratings. We played cards while drinking ciders and fresh gingerale. The weather was just perfect for outdoor fun. We noticed just about every person had a dog with them on the streets of Fairhaven and most places were dog friendly. It made us miss our Bear. Next on our Independence Day list was a walk on the Taylor Boardwalk. We took a few pictures by the bay and wandered the park a bit before grabbing a coffee and headed back to the house to relax for a few hours before the evening events. On the way home, we gave in and stopped by McDonald's to get the kids a "Grimace Shake" which was a disgusting looking purple shake that was on a limited time. Of course, they loved the fact that it grosed us out. Haha! With it getting dark so much later, the fireworks did not start till 10:30pm. We took naps, packed, and cleaned up until about 9:45pm when we left for Zuanich Park. It was a brief 15 min drive to the park. We walked around giggling at the choice of live music (Beach Boys, B52's, Queen, etc) and people watching. We found a spot on the lawn minutes before the fireworks started. The fireworks were so much larger than we have ever seen and you could hear the booms throughout the bay. It was by far the most beautiful fireworks display I have ever seen. The only odd thing to us was that there was no music. The band had quit performing, so it was just the chatter of those around us commenting on each firework. Once over and in the car, we laughed as it was once again after midnight and we were starving. Caelin got her dream come true as we found a Taco Bell open late. Even though it was late and we were exhausted, our last day was one to remember and a perfect way to end our vacation to Canada and Washington. Tomorrow we start our journey home!
