Easter

This year for Easter we met at Gamee and Grampee’s house to celebrate our risen Savior after attending church. Christopher, Heather, Andrew, and Jacob came as well, making it a full and lively gathering. As always, Gamee and Grampee went all out with decorations, games, dinner, and dessert.  They truly know how to create a day the kids look forward to every year. The games included hitting confetti eggs with golf clubs and baseball bats, which was quite the show and brought plenty of laughter. We also had an Easter egg hunt, always entertaining to watch as the kids get competitive over who can find their eggs the fastest. Of course, the obligatory confetti egg debacle made its appearance again, usually ending with someone in tears before the laughter takes over. We wrapped up the day with the kids receiving their Easter baskets filled with surprises and candy. In the end, it was a great day spent with family, but more importantly, a reminder of what the day is really about—the resurrection of Jesus.  This time of year I am reminded of the song that says “I know how the story ends…we will be with him again.” Indeed, no matter what life brings, we know how the story ends.  Thank you Jesus for your example, love and sacrifice.
