This is our
4th year that we have enjoyed going to Sandestin, Florida. We stayed in
the same house at 487 Linkside and loved having the house and golfcart to use.
Of course the kids look froward to the bunk bed, and we are thankful for
rooms where everyone can spread out and relax together! We started our
journey at 4am on Thursday and between stops for potty and stretching, we
arrived in Sandestin around 3pm, just in time to grocery shop and then head to
our house. We quickly unpacked and took the golfcart to the beach for our
annual first day walk along beach. Of course the kids got soaked in their
clothes, which is perfectly fine by us as we know how fun the waves are.
After cleaning up, we headed to explore the town of Watercolor, FL. It
was a quaint little town and we enjoyed a Delicious meal at Bud and Alley's
overlooking the beach. The next day, we slept in and then
immediately had the beach on the agenda.
We loaded up lunches, snacks, drinks, etc and headed out. It was quite the adventure with sandcastles,
snorkeling, surfing the waves with boogie boards, etc. Daddy found a sand bar around 5ft deep with
THOUSANDS of sanddollars! He took pics
and brought us some back to look at.
They were gorgeous! After the
beach we enjoyed some pool time before heading to one of the kids favorite
spots…Baytowne Wharf! We treated
ourselves to a great seafood dinner, found some hidden treehouses on a secret
path, enjoyed live music while the kids played on the playground, and then
watched the kids try out the Eurobungy jumping.
It was a busy day! Saturday was a
rainy day, but that didn’t stop the fun.
We explored the history and fishing museum with a
scavenger hunt, ate at our favorite Irish Pub, fed the gators at Fudpuckers,
& played board games. Then, we decided to take the road less traveled to
the beach while it was still sprinkling. It paid off as the beach was GORGEOUS
and hardly anyone there for the sunset. We finished the day with a swimming and
pizza night. Thank you Lord for unseen opportunities and family!
