The second
half of our trip started with relaxing at the house and board games in the
morning. Shortly after we ventured to
Grayton State Park where we went hiking.
It was a little different to hike on sand dunes and through a tree cave…but
still adventurous and fun. We saw lots
of wildlife and got in some good exercise.
We were all starving, so decided to head to the town of Seaside for some
lunch at the Wine and Cheese Bistro. We
sampled 5 different kinds of cheeses and enjoyed fresh Cuban sandwiches (except
Caelin stuck with her cheese quesadillas like every meal!). It was so yummy! After lunch we grabbed a geocache, went
shopping at the candy store and then headed home for a night at the Wharf with the
“Storks” movie and Pizza on the green. For our last day on Monday, we planned a big
beach/pool day. We had no plans but to
enjoy our family time. We took silly
pictures, made Caelin into a mermaid, ate lunch on the beach, and had fun at
the pool. Once we got home, Cade and
Daddy went to the fresh Seafood market and picked out some Mahi Mahi, fresh shrimp,
scallops, shrimp bisque, and crab cakes.
Then Daddy cooked an AMAZING Seafood dinner before we headed to the
Wharf one last time. We watched a
hydroflight show, shopped, did the Eurobungy (again), and enjoyed ice cream. We all slept good that night, but decided to
wake up early at 5:30am to see the sunrise on our last day before the drive to
Texas. The kids were hesitant at first,
but loved it once we got there. We made
our “footprints in the sand” and then went through the "magic tunnel" on the golf cart one last time. On our way out of town we made sure to stop
at the Pancakery for breakfast. The
drive home took about 10hrs with stops, so not too bad. Cade said his favorite part of the trip was the History & Fishing Museum and Baytowne Wharf. Caelin's favorite was "riding the waves" and the Eurobungy jumping. We were able to get home just in time to pick
up our precious Bear from the sitters. What
a PERFECT and relaxing vacation! Praise
God for all the memories and relaxation this past week. Until next year Sandestin…
