Our last day of Summer

We celebrated summer coming to a close with a family day! We did 'Escape the Room' in The Woodlands. Escape the Room was SO MUCH fun! The facility was super clean and we only interacted with one person the entire time. They have you wait in hall so no parties pass each other and rooms were thoroughly cleaned. We were allowed to take our mask off once the door closed to the room and for a picture. It was safe and great family fun! We did the bank heist and the kids loved it. Next, we had a team cooking challenge and then family movie night. Caelin and I were in charge of apps and dessert. Since we couldn't decide what app to make, we made a charcuterie platter with lots of options. For dessert, she chose a confetti lake with lemon layered in middle, buttercream icing and a whole lot of sprinkles. The boys had the dinner portion and made a carrot soufflé and smoked beef ribs. We have happy hearts & full bellies!

Lil Ricky turns 16!

16 years ago, Nikola Pagnozzi's water broke in our driveway on Piney Way Drive.  Little did we know at the time that our Godson would bless us as much as he has.  Ricky was born to stand out.  He is kind to others, loves music, theatre, and is a talented swimmer.  We have been blessed to live next door to his toothy smile and watch him grow into the young man God made him.  We love you Lil Ricky!  Ps...stop growing taller!

A week recharging in Grapeland!

Anytime we get the chance to spend time in Grapeland, we do it.  There is just something about getting away from the hustle of life and unplugging for awhile. Every time we go to Grapeland we have a great time and always wish we could have at least one more day.  Thankfully we were able to spend a whole week this trip (but still wanted to stay longer). Everyone had the opportunity to do their favorite things and relax.  There were hours spent fishing behind the dam, on the boat, and off the docks.  We even tried our hand at trot lining. There was also time spent putting together puzzle and playing games together. Plus, a trip to Grapeland would not be complete without a driving tour of the town while geocaching. An added bonus was the Martins were in town as well. Cade and Caelin enjoy playing with the kids: sewing, puzzles,, frog catching, worm farm, BB gun shooting, "exercising", and of course S'Mores. This trip also include a special trip to the Caddo Mounds. Here we all were able to see 3 earthen mounds that still rise from the ground and helped us learn what would      their days would have been like. We can not wait to get once again and enjoy the beautiful country with another Pennington Watermelon and good friends.
