Round Rock

Great extended weekend in Round Rock with family. We got lots done, enjoyed a shrimp boil with our crazy 9, and Bear was smiling to get a Starbucks treat! Bonus was capturing Nana to come home with us for the week. PS- 5 people, 3 dogs and luggage fills up the car. Lol!

Snovid 2021

Storm Uri sure made her presence this past week.  The snow gave us giggles and no electricity for 3 days gave us lots of family time and layers of clothes. We found ourselves huddled by candle light in our master bedroom and blankets over the windows to keep the cold out as much as possible at night time. I think at one point it was in the 60's in the house. Luckily, we never lost water and could still take warm baths and showers which was a HUGE blessing. Since we have gas stoves, we could cook as well. Daddy even made the coffee by pouring boiling water through the coffee filter. We kept cell phones charged by the Buick Enclave in garage. Groceries were moved from the fridge to the patio or snow outside. Thankful for the time we have together. We have made some interesting meals, many batches of Daddy's snow ice cream recipe, played games that have been in the closet for years, had family reading time, started reading "Fenway and Hattie" as a family (Read Across Texas book), prayed, made sure the birds were fed (lol), and enjoyed more than one night sleeping in the same room huddled up. We were very blessed compared to most around Texas and did our best to choose joy. There is always a reason to be thankful and smile!
