Happy Halloween!

It was a fun filled Halloween with Cade's football homecoming, Caelin's soccer, carving our pumpkin (right on time, lol), and of course Halloween Shenanigans with friends! This year Caelin was Spidergirl (Gwen Stacy) and Cade was a Sriracha Bottle. My favorite parts were watching the excitement as kids ran from house to house, Cade using the same old pillowcase as his candy bag, and of course the Candy Swap of 2020 at our kitchen table where negotiations lasted over an hour before we had to announce that all trades were closing for the night. Ha!

A quick visit to Round Rock

Mom had a heart doctor apt and some things needing to be fixed around house, so I decided to take off work and make a quick trip to see Mom and help out.  I cherish these trips because it is just me and I get quality time with Mom.  Our usual go to is chinese food and watching TV, so that is just what we did when I first got home.  Once our bellies were full we worked on some paperwork (I found a picture of Mom just after her and Daddy married!) and made our list of projects for the next day which included changing out air filters, fixing a toilet, replacing two wall thermostats, and a doctor visit.  Even though it was a quick trip, we were able to get so much done and spending time with Mom and Mendy is always a blessing!

Reading Adventures

Based on recommendations, I selected American Dirt and Redeeming Love. Both AWESOME books and highly recommend them! However...I have to brag and say I finished a HUGE goal on Friday! I successfully finished reading the Bible for the 2nd time. I use the Bible app and each day listen to it on the way to/from work. Of course, it is a plan to read the Bible in a year...which instead took me 22 months this time. I never gave up and 3 weeks ago decided not to start another book until I finished the most important book of all.

Our typical Thursday Routine...

Every Thursday since August we have a double night of sports which is Football for Cade and Caelin for Soccer.  Since the sports end at 7:30p, we always grab Chick-Fil-A on the way home.  We see the same workers each Thursday and enjoy chatting briefly with them about how the sports are going.  Some day we will wish for the craziness of Thursdays and remember our drive thru nights with a smile.

Boots for Troops

We love going to the annual Boots for Troops Concert in the Country.  The benefit supports military troops serving oversees and helps to provide new boots and care packages for the men and women who are serving.  In addition to supporting a fabulous cause, we get to enjoy time with friends who also believe in supporting the cause.  Such a great night of music, food, dancing, and most importantly remembering those who are away from their loved ones and serving us.  May God continue to bless them daily.

Radio

This was tonight's family movie night feature. It had been a while since we watched it and our hearts are full. Great family film that reminds us to care about people above all. Cade said his favorite part was "everything about the entire film". We are sad to learn that Radio and Coach Jones both passed away in Dec of 2019, 5 days apart. "It's never a mistake to care for someone."

Mackenzie is FOURTEEN!

It happened.  Kennybug turned14 before our very eyes.  I have heard her first cry while crouching outside the hospital delivery room and watched her grow into a beautiful girl who trusts God.  She is the older cousin that has to always be in charge, makes us laugh at her witty personality, always helps friends in need, is kind to those less fortunate, and is one heck of a soccer player.  Our family was sad to have missed seeing her in person on her special day, but we prayed over her and this upcoming year.  WE LOVE YOU KENNYBUG!
