Bucket List

We made a summer bucket list for family adventures.  One of the things was a family fondue game night.  We had no idea what kind of fun we had in store.  Let's just say we stayed up till almost 1am eating and playing games.  For dinner we grilled chicken bites and had queso with broccoli, cauliflower, pretzels, apples, and more as dippers.  Dessert was everyones favorite with fondue chocolate and bacon, marshmallows, strawberries, pretzels, graham crackers, and apples as dippers.   The favorite game of the night was "Throw Throw Burrito".  It is a fast game of cards and throwing burritos at each other for game points.  We had a few bruises at the end of the night and someone cried...but it was all fun in the end.  I guess we are all a little competitive and it was every man for himself.  Haha!

Port O'Connor

We were a bit bummed that due to Covid-19 we were unable to do our planned trip to Cancun with the Parks family.  So, Nana surprised us with a trip to Port O'Connor for 4 days so we could all be together. It was a lot of fun and relaxing to not have the typical day to day things to worry about.  We were able to have a surprise birthday celebration the first night we were there and Caelin was grinning from ear to ear when she saw the cookie cake. It was a welcomed change of scenery with the quarantine around us.  The ocean was peaceful and fishing is definitely a family favorite.  We caught black tip sharks, bonnet head sharks, sand sharks, kingfish/whiting, and gafftops.  The sharks were the main catch for all and we took home some to grill and fry for later.  Cade's favorite memory was catching 3 sharks in one day and even taking them off the hook himself. Caelin enjoyed time with the cousins and was fearless in holding the sharks for pictures.  We relaxed on the big deck each evening with family meals and Charles had smoked a huge brisket that we ate one night. Nana enjoyed sunset cruising on the boat in the canals. Jaxson and I had a great time kayaking in the canals.  We were so thankful that the rain held off while we fished each day and the cloud cover made it great weather.  Special shout out to our favorite Captain Uncle Chris!  We have so many laughs and memories that we will treasure always.
