Round Rock & McCharen Reunion

This past weekend we had the opportunity to spend time with both sides of the family.  Every year we attend the McCharen Reunion in San Marcos.  This year, as we have done in the past, we stopped in Round Rock first to break the drive up a little and see Nana and Papa, Uncle Chris, Aunt Mendy, and cousins Mackenzie and Jaxson.  The kids had a wonderful time playing with their cousins and of course loving on Nana and Papa.  The evening before we left for the reunion was a relaxing one as we all sat at the dinner table laughing and telling stories as we ate pizza.  This was nice as we knew that in the morning the circus would begin.
The next day we slept in a little before heading to San Marcos where we would be staying at the T Bar M Camp.  We got there in the afternoon just in time to check in, enjoy this years PHOTO BOOTH by Aunt Laura, play games in the meeting room with family, and then head to dinner.  Dinner was the usual at Mamacita's, but this time we had a room so we all ate together!  After dinner we had a chance to visit more back at T Bar M and also watch an outdoor movie.  Saturday we ate breakfast outside at the ranch before heading into Gruene, TX for some shopping and fun.  We ate lunch at our favorite the Gristmill.  It is always so peaceful and there is nothing like eating by nature and watching the river.  After lunch we headed back to T Bar M for the family games to begin.  I stayed in the room while Caelin took a marathon nap (almost 2.5 hours), figures!  However, Charles and Cade were able to play games with the family like Family Name Bingo, puzzles, guess the number of objects, and more.  After Caelin had her beauty sleep, we joined up everyone for a family BBQ at the Ranch.  Saturday night is the biggest night of games, auction items, sharing by family members of the "good ole days", and the younger cousins running around playing.  It was a great reunion this year and I know plans are already in progress for next year!  Mark your calendars McCharen Clan!
