Our little girl turns 3 years old

I honestly am not sure how this day is already here.  As I sit here typing, it is to the minute of when she was born 3 years ago, 9:33pm.  I remember checking into Willowbrook Methodist Hospital around 2:30pm and realizing July 3rd would now be such a huge day in my life.  Little did I know 3 years ago how much this independent ball of energy would bless us.  The name Caelin means pure and powerful warrior...which is so very true.  How do I begin to sum up in words our love, blessings, and a year of pure happiness??  There are just no words.  I have a feeling that is how I will feel most of my life with my children, blessed and speechless.  Well, I could sit here all night crying, so I better get started!  To celebrate your day, we went to the Children's Museum with Gamee, Aunt Heather, and Andrew.  You had a blast running around and did not want to leave.  I think your favorite part was the grocery store and play house.  After the Museum, we met Grampee, Uncle Christopher, and Uncle Jim/Aunt Linda at Cafe Express in the Woodlands Market Street area.  We had a great lunch where you opened some presents and had a cupcake!  We then went home to rest a bit and open up some more presents.  You were so very excited to get your new bike and helmet!  You kept walking around the bike looking at the Cinderella pictures and when you saw the helmet you hugged it and said, "what I've always wanted!"  Daddy helped you ride around a bit outside and you are still learning to keep pushing the pedals.  After a few more gifts we then met everyone at Lupe Tortillas for dinner.  It was a full day of celebration and one to remember always as we were surrounded by family.

To our dearest Caelin Roe,

What a year it has been for you!  You have grown so much this year.  Your personality is really starting to come out which has been the best part for me.  You are independent, fun loving, inquisitive, and you make friends easily wherever you go.  Your best friends are your brother Cade and cousin Andrew.  Andrew calls you "Ya-Ya" and you love playing with him.  You talk about your cousins Mackenzie and Jaxson all the time, Hana next door and Abby (in Cade's class) at School.  When Cade is down, you have a sensitive spirit and are always there to pat him on the back and give him a hug.  You do not like it when others around you are sad.  Your favorite things to eat are chocolate milk, chicken nuggets, Mac-N-Cheese, pizza and fruit snacks.  Going outside is always more appealing to you than being inside.  You are happiest at the park or doing something outside.  You enjoy the pool and sunshine like your Mommy.  When someone has to run an errand or go to the store, you are the first to ask "me too?"  You never want to be left behind and are always up for a new adventure.  I love that spontaneous side of you, I hope you never loose that zest for excitement.  When going to bed, you always prefer for Daddy to tuck you in and read to you.  Simply put, you are a Daddy's girl!  When you get in trouble, I can punish you and it doesn't phase you.  However, if Daddy even looks at you or walks closer, you immediately say "sorry" and comply.  You are DADDY'S GIRL!  Right now, your favorite shows on TV are Bubble Guppies, Peppa Pig, Team Umi Zoomi, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Tom & Jerry.  Your favorite movies at this phase are Wreck it Ralph, How to train your Dragon, Beauty and the Beast, and Peter Pan.  I love how you also have a need to coordinate your outfits.  You definitely prefer the colors pink and purple, but will wear any color and match it to a bow.  You will also pick out your own shoes and panties each day.  Favorite toys include Turtle iPod (now your very own PINK iPhone with games), Lego Friends, Barbies, stuffed animals, and bath toys.  For your birthday this year you got, a Cinderella bike (Mom and Dad), Barbie bike helmet/big girl flower sheets/bed accessories (Nana and Papa), pink iPhone with games (Gamee and Grampee), and Sophia Pajamas from Aunt Linda/Uncle Jim.  This past year, you have grown so much in size as well.  You now wear size 4T in most clothes and size 8 in shoes.  In school this year, you have learned routines, to put away your things, follow directions, color, play with friends, share, and colors/shapes.  You are now about 90% potty trained and only wearing diapers at night time.  You will tell us when you need to go, and have fewer and fewer little accidents.  It is nice to not have to carry around a diaper bag anymore!  Your language is getting stronger and your pronunciation is clearer for friends to understand.  I have enjoyed watching your language skills take off these past 3-4 months.  You will often say these phrases, "Me first", "I won", "I do it", "not you", "may I have that please", or "stop that Cade".  Thank you so much for the joy and laughter you bring to us daily.  It is an honor to be your parents and watch you grow each day.  Always remember that you are "beautiful, smart, and so important".  May this next year of your life bring you more blessings each day.  We love you all the way around the world and back again, Mommy and Daddy
