Decking the Hall's

Today we decorated for Christmas.  The kids loved putting up decorations around the house and I tried to make “recommendations” for where they would look best, ha.  I always get teary eyed when I come to the ornaments as they truly are a collection from our childhood.  We have ones that were made in elementary school, baby’s 1st Christmas’, ones from my Grandparents, old car keys to remind us of cars we had, and my favorite that have smiling pictures of happy family moments.  Through tears, it is always a reminder that God is good.  Life may not always be what we expect and can sometimes just be painful.  However, those moments make us stronger and we are forever grateful that we had those joyful memories nonetheless.  The kids had a special time putting up their very own trees in their rooms this year.  They LOVED cleaning off the night stands and decorating their own tree.  It is fun to see the tradition continue and hear them say, "Hey look at this one I made when I was 3!"  We had a great laugh when Caelin picked out a furry cat as her 2017 ornament.  She does love cats.  However...on the tree it resembles the cat coming out of the tree on National Lampoon's Christmas vacation.  Cade went with a wooden nativity ornament that lights up.  Both represent their personalities and are worth every penny spent for years to come.
