San Destin, Florida (Part 2)

Here we go on part 2 of our week in San Destin!!  It was too much to put in one post, so hoping this gives the reader a break, Ha!  Sunday morning was one I had been looking forward to since before we started driving.  We arrived early to the "Dolphin Sighting and Snorkeling Tour" to surprise the kids.  Caelin was elated to know we would see some dolphins and Cade was looking forward to finding some new treasures while snorkeling.  The boat ride was a bit choppy due to winds, but we could not have been more blessed with the close encounters with dolphins by the boat.  They swam next to us for a while and Caelin just stared.  Once the snorkeling portion was upon us, Cade jumped in to start with Daddy, while I eased Caelin in.  It was a bit harder than anticipated for Caelin with the snorkel gear, so I quickly traded that for her goggles and off we went.  With the waves, she clung closely to me, but we were able to see all kids of brightly colored fish, a colony of hermit crabs, and a lot of fish we wouldn't mind eating...haha!  Cade found an interesting shell and took a picture of a blue crab while exploring with Daddy.  It was such a fun excursion for everyone.  When we got off the boat for lunch, we were all starving, so we ate at our favorite place, Boshamps.  Caelin used some of her souvenir money to buy a Boshamps stuffed animal and Cade enjoyed watching the band play on the deck.  As with most days, we had no plans that evening, so we decided to hit the pool before taking the golf cart to Baytowne Wharf that night.  By bedtime, I think we all fell asleep within minutes and were looking forward to our last full day in Florida tomorrow.  It was an easy vote the next day on what we should do.  With it being the last day, everyone agreed we should have a beach day and then dress up nice for one last special dinner out.  The dinner that night was made even more special because I received a call during dinner to officially offer me my new job (more on that later)!  I was thrilled and it could not have come at a better time.  We celebrated in style for sure.  The kids talked us into one last trip to Baytowne Wharf to do the ropes course, so we couldn't say no.  They had a blast climbing high and were so brave.  It was a great end to a perfect day of blessings.  As with most adventures in life, this chapter of memories closed on Tuesday morning when we began to head home.  I just cannot say enough praises to God for the blessings we are given and the opportunity to take family trips like this each summer.  I often read the blog books in earlier years and smile so big knowing all the memories that were made.  As I type this, I envision Cade/Caelin reading the 2018 blog book years from now and laughing at our craziness and laughter over the years.  THIS is what life is all about.
